Boot Up Floppy Seek
Common Options : Enabled, Disabled Quick Review This BIOS feature determines whether the BIOS checks for a floppy drive during boot-up or not. If enabled, the BIOS will attempt to detect and initialize the floppy drive. If it cannot detect one, it will flash an error message. However, the system will still be allowed to continue the boot process. If this feature is disabled, the BIOS will skip the floppy drive check. This speeds up the booting process by several seconds. Since a floppy drive check is really pointless, it is recommended that you disable this feature for a faster booting process. |

Quote DualBIOS TM prevents BIOS from virus attacks Uite ce am gasit: Gigabyte has also seen fit to include DualBIOS technology with the GA-7ZXR, which means two independent BIOS, and an extra layer of protection against viral infection; if the primary BIOS goes down, the secondary is still ready to go. /later edit Ca sa fi si mai lamurit: http://www.findartic..._25/ai_54593975 Gigabyte motherboards with DualBIOS physically incorporate two BIOS chips. If the primary BIOS (the one booted under normal circumstances) fails, the secondary BIOS takes over on the next system boot. Pana si numele DUALBIOS spune ceva - 2 BIOS-uri. Cel putin asa vad eu.

Definitii: Viruses - A virus is a small piece of software that piggybacks on real programs. For example, a virus might attach itself to a program such as a spreadsheet program. Each time the spreadsheet program runs, the virus runs, too, and it has the chance to reproduce (by attaching to other programs) or wreak havoc. A computer virus must piggyback on top of some other program or document in order to get executed. Once it is running, it is then able to infect other programs or documents. E-mail viruses - An e-mail virus moves around in e-mail messages, and usually replicates itself by automatically mailing itself to dozens of people in the victim's e-mail address book. Worms - A worm is a small piece of software that uses computer networks and security holes to replicate itself. A copy of the worm scans the network for another machine that has a specific security hole. It copies itself to the new machine using the security hole, and then starts replicating from there, as well. A worm usually exploits some sort of security hole in a piece of software or the operating system. Trojan horses - A Trojan horse is simply a computer program. The program claims to do one thing (it may claim to be a game) but instead does damage when you run it (it may erase your hard disk). Trojan horses have no way to replicate automatically. Sinteti circortasi.
Vrei sa pui BIOS-ul in carantina, sau n-am inteles eu bine? |

Daca noi suntem carcotasi, tu esti obtuz.
Cat despre BIOS in carantina - incerci doar sa ma superi. Have it your way. |

Cat despre BIOS in carantina - incerci doar sa ma superi. Have it your way. @Daisuke Nu-i problema, dupa cum vezi, nu am ajuns inca la mame :D Edited by ovidiugm, 28 February 2005 - 10:27. |

He called names first. |

The WIN95/CIH.1003 virus is of notable interest. It was first discovered in Taiwan in June 1998, and appeared here at Edinburgh in October. It infects Windows 95/98 executable files. The payload includes overwriting most of the hard disk. However, more serious is its attempts to overwrite the Flash BIOS chip of the machine. This will result in the infected computer being unable to boot. The Intel 430TX chipset for example is quoted as being vulnerable, though other Pentiums are at risk from this form of attack.
sau The most common version of the virus, CIH 1.2, activates on the 26th of April. At this time, it can overwrite the hard disk and the flash BIOS of an infected computer -- causing complete loss of data, and possibly rendering the computer unusable. |

Anti-virus software consists of computer programs that attempt to identify, thwart and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software (malware). A computer program (often simply called a program) is an example of computer software that prescribes the actions ("computations") that are to be carried out by a computer. Most programs consist of a loadable set of instructions which determines how the computer will react to user input when that program is running, i.e. when the instructions are 'loaded'. Colloquially, the term program is often used interchangeably with software and software application. Computer software (or simply software) refers to one or more computer programs and data held in the storage of a computer for some purpose In computing, the Basic Input-Output System or BIOS is computer interface code that locates and loads the operating system into RAM. |
