Quote Sebastien Loeb and team-mate Daniel Elena had their first test of Citroen’s 2007 WRC challenger Friday. The C4 coupe has been designed to the FIA’s new WRC regulations, designed to cut costs and increase driver and co-driver safety. For 2006, Loeb and Elena will run privateer 2005-spec Citroen Xsaras for Belgian team Kronos, as Citroen develops the C4 in preparation for the factory team’s return to WRC competition in 2007. pentru 2006 Citroen nu va participa direct ci printr-o echipa privata, la fel cum va face si skoda care insa va avea 2 echipe. Toate echipele se pare ca sunt in espectativa pentru a vedea schimbarile si efectele acestor schimbari.Citroen se pare ca va reveni in 2007

pana una alta Citroen participa in wrc prin intermediul echipei kronos ce vor avea un xsara wrc
Quote While the Citroen itself is not participating in the World Rally Championship this year, Citroen Sport is still very much involved in motorsport with its “Customer Sport” activity, including the renting of “ready to go” Xsaras to the Kronos Racing Team. The Kronos Racing Belgian team participated in the first event, the Monte Carlo rally, with three Xsara WRCs. Two of these were entered under the colors of the Kronos Total Citroen World Rally Team: one for two-times World Champions Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, and the other one for their Spanish team-mates Xavier Pons and Carlos Del Barrio. Bearing number one and two on their doors, these Xsaras depend on a team registered in the ‘Manufacturers one’ category, and comply with the 2006 technical definition. The most known measures of these new regulations are the prohibition of the electronic front and rear differentials and an increased restriction of the spare parts changes.

Conform wrc.com noul C4 WRC isi va face debul in data de 18 martie in cadrul Andros Trophy ce se va desfasura pe Stade de France in Paris. Cine alticineva putea sa prezinte masina publicului decat Sebastien Loeb? Guy Frequelin, directorul echipei Citroen a declarat ca e foarte bucuros sa poata prezenta masina publicului in cadrul acestui eveniment deoarece orarul echipei este foarte incarcat realizandu-se teste intense cu masina . Invitatiei primite din partea lui Max Mamers, organizatorul evenimentului, i-a fost dat curs si pentru ca de fiecare data cand Loeb a fost pe Stade de France a fost bine primit de catre public.
De asemenea Leob s-a aratat entuziasmat de faptul ca poate sa prezinte C4 WRC in fata publicului francez, afirmand ca in acest fel poate sa fie mai aproape de fanii care nu pot sa ajunga la etapele de campionat mondial, dar care creeaza o atmosfera incendiara. Loeb a mai declarat ca e o onoare pentru el sa prezinte pentru prima data noul model de WRC fanilor. |
