A variable interior, smart details and an attractive price distinguish the "Multivan Startline", which is in the fianl stages of development and will celebrate its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2006.

There is room for up to seven passengers together with luggage, play area for the kids, space for hobbies and somewhere to sleep. The Volkswagen Multivan is more than just a spacious limousine, leisure vehicle or transporter; it is everything all-in-one: it defines the people carrier. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is expanding the class with the "Multivan Startline". With its attractive starting price it is a simple yet smartly equipped version comparable with the Multivan Beach, which was presented at the Caravansalon 2005. The "Startline" concentrates on the essence on the core competence at VW: It is practical, versatile, economical and robust.

Silver decorative stripes and tinted passenger windows refine the appearance from the outside. Smooth, laminated trim panels instead of plastic coated mouldings make the "Multivan Startline" simple, yet easy to maintain. This will be appreciated by families and active sportsmen alike, as will the practical mesh under the roof of the rear compartment.

The adjustable three-seat bench can be folded out and folded together like a sandwich. A table can be hooked onto the side rails, which can be folded into the trim panel of the sliding door during the journey. The table can also be used outside the vehicle. For an additional charge two extra single seats can be fitted, making the "Multivan Startline" a seven-seater.

The black and silver exterior of the vehicle is mirrored on the inside, with black upholstery and varying shades of grey for the surfaces. Central locking, electric windows and electronically adjustable mirrors are all part of the standard equipment. Optional extras include a bed extension and curtains.

The basic engine consists of an economical four cylinder TDI with 62 kW. Any other engine from the Multivan series range can be installed, including a diesel engine with 128 kW that comes with a particulate filter as standard.
