Chirurgia endoscopică a hipofizei

A brief profile of the author: Stefan 'Zec' Popa(born June 10,1985) is a jazz musician and composer, perhaps best known as a bass guitarist. His solo album Coram Deo is the first Romanian conceptual deep melodic jazz bass solo album and it contains 8 songs. Known for his sessions and live work with 'The Twisted Cables Concept', as well for his visionary playing style and solo recordings, Stefan spent his childhood and youth in Bistrita, where he studied bass and classical guitar, played in the stage band Manifest.

Aurel Popartac about the author of Coram Deo:
Stefan Lucian Popa is the first Romanian composer to release a jazz bass solo conceptual album in Romania. The style, although juvenile, is revolutionary and was named "Deep Melodic Jazz" (the author's definition). Born in Bistrita (county of Bistrita-Nasaud, Romania) he started playing clasical guitar at the local "Scoala Populara de Arte" (tr.: The People's Art School) at the age of 14. He spent his first years as a growing musician playing electrical bass guitar in a local band (Manifest) which he founded with his colleague and friend Mihai Coros. At the age of 18 he was the co-founder of “The Twisted Cables Concept”. Again, together with Mihai Coros, the two played lounge, chill-out, fusion and jazz in clubs across the city of Cluj Napoca, Romania. Now, aged 21, Stefan Lucian Popa released his first record. Coram Deo vol. I is a musical journey through the soft sensation of loosing one's self in the sound web. Influences from Bach's and Beethoven's classical spirit, gone mad in the “fury” of bass chords getting wild, make the style a paradox in its true nature; a “fist” received from a mixture of hardcore sounds for which the classical or modern borders are just another things to ignore in the search for a clear state of mind and spirit. |
