The word combination from tiger and iguana of the readers of the European AUTO screen group was selected. Also over 36 per cent of the voices with it the fantasy name made of robbery cat and Echse became generally accepted sovereign in relation to the alternatives "skirt clay/tone", "Nanuk", "Samun" and "Namib". Altogether 117,824 readers for the model name "Tiguan" had votiert. With exception of the basic version with front wheel drive all Tiguan variants are equipped with 4Motion-Allradantrieb as well as variable torque distribution. Special Offroad features such as barriers or reduction transmissions are not intended for this area gulf. Already the 1,4-Liter-TSI-Basismotor of the Tiguan carries 150 HP out. Over it there is to be the 2,0-Liter-TFSI-Turbo-Direkteinspritzer in two performance levels: as soft turbo with 170 HP, the version with increased load pressure carries 200 HP out. Eu inca nu ma grabesc sa afirm ce impact vor avea noile modele la publicul cumparator, dar oricum e bine pentru ei (cumparatorii) ca oferta se extinde. Acum alta stire de confirmare:
It's Official: Volkswagen Tiguan Volkswagen yesterday officially announced that their new compact SUV will be named the 'Tiguan'. The name was chosen by readers of Germany's Autobild Magazine after Volkswagen asked them to choose from five different names and vote for one that will become the SUV's name. Tiguan came out the winner beating out such choices as 'Rockton', 'Namib', 'Nanuk', and 'Samun'. Details for Volkswagen's new off-roader are sketchy however it is expected to be introduced at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show next September and can be had for about €26,000. Autobild suggests that the Tiguan will be offered with a 1.4L 150 hp TSI motor and two versions of the 2.0L TFSI engine. One version would produce 170 hp and the other would produce 200 hp. As well, two versions of the same 2.0L TDI engine offered would produce 140 hp and 170 hp. Autobild also says that the Tiguan may be offered in both front- and 4Motion all-wheel drive. The Tiguan will be built in Germany, a move made by Volkswagen after German labour unions fought to keep production there. Although no official photos or spyshots have surfaced, many suspect that a good indication of the Tiguan's exterior can be seen in the lines of the Concept A, which Volkswagen showed to the public earlier this year in the Geneva Auto Show. The Tiguan may share many of the Concept A's styling cues such as the daring front. The suicide doors, the lack of a B-pillar, and the whole interior will definitely not make production. Speculation is that the Tiguan is a combination of the words 'Tiger' and 'Iguana'. Whatever that says about the car, I don't know but when people hear the name, certain references to Napoleon Dynamite will no doubt be drawn. Attached Files |

@seerkan: Da este facut in Photoshop.
Nici nu a fost ales bine numele pentru viitorul baby SUV de la VW, ca deja Tiguan a fost surprins in teste, dupa cum se poate observa bordul va fi preluat de la Golf Plus. Volkswagen Tiguan Spyshots Just weeks after Volkswagen announced the name of their new Golf/Rabbit-based SUV, the Tiguan has fallen victim to the quick camera skills of photographer Chris Doane as it was caught being tested. Despite donning thick camouflage fore and aft, the Tiguan's overall shape is unmistakabley Volkswagen; the windows and the roofline is identical to that of the Touareg. Inside, the test Tiguan sports the dashboard of Europe's Golf Plus. This could change, if ever so slightly, by the time it is revealed September of next year at the IAA in Frankfurt. Engine offerings are still unknown as of now however the GTI's 2.0T engine should be offered, as well as a V6 (perhaps the 3.2L V6) and a diesel. The Tiguan should also come in a choice of front-wheel drive and 4Motion all-wheel drive. Pricing, though unconfirmed, should start at around €26,000. Attached Files |

OTHER SPY PHOTOS: VW Tiguan
Baby Touareg Crosses our path Look out Land Rover – VW is stalking your new Freelander! These are the first ever pictures of the firm's entry into the compact SUV market, the Tiguan. And don't be fooled by the comical badge on the grille – we caught this model undergoing final development in Finland. The shots reveal how the styling is influenced by its Touareg big brother. However, a rakish stance gives the new SUV a sportier look. And behind the disguise lies a much bolder face, derived from the Concept-A show car seen at the Geneva expo in March. It features an H-shaped chrome grille, distinctive lights and deep air intakes. Chunky C pillars and Touareg-style taillamps finish off the rear, which is also likely to feature a split tailgate. Under the skin is a platform derived from the current Golf, with toughened suspension, a raised ride height and a four-wheel-drive system that's a development of the firm's 4MOTION set-up. Inside, there's a high-level console which incorporates an LCD screen to control the sat-nav and stereo. As with rivals such as Toyota's Rav4 and the Honda CR-V, the Tiguan seats five. Power will be taken from a choice of engines, including FSI and TSI petrols, plus TDI diesel units. The wraps come off the newcomer at Geneva next year, and a starting price of 14 000 Euros is likely. Attached Files |

SPY PHOTOS: VW Tiguan
New SUV Ready for Launch Volkswagen is about to release the new 4x4 model Tiguan at the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show in December this year. Here are more photos showing a prototype of VW’s new compact SUV during hot weather testing in the Californian desert. Although still disguised, the shape and styling of the new model – previously dubbed “Marrakesh” - is clearly similar to VW’s bigger off-roader, the Touareg. The new Tiguan sits on a platform derived from the current Golf, however with a heavy duty suspension, higher ground clearance and VW’s 4MOTION four-wheel-drive system. The dashboard includes an LCD screen controlling satellite navigation and stereo. The Tiguan is a five passenger car and set to rival the likes of Toyota’s RAV 4, Honda’s CR-V , LandRover Freelander and BMW X3. Power comes from a choice of fuel and Diesel engines, starting with a 1.4 litre TSI 150hp fuel engine, probably another 2.0 litre delivering 170 to 200hp, and two 140 and 170hp 2.0 litre Diesels. vw va prezenta la salonul auto de la los angeles conceptul Tiguan, care va semana foarte foarte mult cu modelul de serie. Ce pot sa zic? Imi place, devine preferatul meu in segmentul suv-urilor compacte din punct de vedere al designului exterior. La interior nu ma prea incanta bordul cu arome de golf plus
Quote CONCEPT TIGUAN MAKES WORLD DEBUT AT LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW Volkswagen has unveiled its compact 4x4, the Concept Tiguan, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and has announced that the first examples of the SUV will be delivered to customers by the end of next year. The first news of the Tiguan’s development came with the debut of Concept A in Berlin earlier this year. This was followed by the naming of the model in July, the result of a poll of more than 350,000 readers of magazines of the AutoBild group. This latest development in Los Angeles takes the Tiguan one step closer to production and hints strongly at how the final version could look. Maintaining the ‘baby Touareg’ appearance of the Concept A, Concept Tiguan makes a bold styling statement. At 4.4 metres long, 1.85 m wide and 1.69 m high, it is very similar in size to the Touran compact MPV (4.4 m, 1.8 m, 1.6 m). Klaus Bischoff, who was responsible for the exterior design of the car said: ‘It was very important for us to have the car appear powerful and muscular. For us that was a higher priority than anything else. An off-roader needs a long hood and an upright position. That lends the vehicle self-assuredness and power.’ The Concept Tiguan’s ‘face’ and side profile are immediately recognisable as those of a Volkswagen, and yet they are different from all existing models in the range. The dark-anodised metallic tone of the front grille contrasts with the body colour, while a grid pattern and two dominant cross fins to the left and right of the Volkswagen roundel complete the look. Another feature is the Concept Tiguan’s tyre design. These 19-inch prototypes, developed by Continental, have an orange radial stripe beneath the tyre profile which matches the car’s paint colour. This colour is not simply painted on: it penetrates the rubber layer as a ‘baked in’ component of the tyre’s casing. The eye-catching anthracite-coloured alloy rims are likely to feature in the production vehicle. At the rear, the lights are integrated into the shoulder section similar to those on the Eos and Passat, while the steeply sloping tailgate extends right down to the bumpers, giving the Tiguan an unmistakably SUV design. Inside the Concept Tiguan, the black, silver and orange colour theme continues. The vintage style black leather seats are trimmed with an orange pattern which mirrors that of the tyre tread. A panoramic sunroof adds light to the spacious interior which can seat up to five occupants, while to add versatility, the rear bench seat can slide fore and aft and be folded down to increase loadspace. Under the bonnet, the concept car features a completely new type of diesel engine, called BLUETEC. Developed in partnership with Audi and Mercedes-Benz and presented for the first time at the LA show, BLUETEC employs a modular concept of different systems to reduce emissions significantly. One of these systems is the NOx storage catalytic converter which cuts nitrogen oxides by up to 90 per cent over current diesel units. This ‘Clean TDI’ will comply with the strictest emissions standards in the world and is one of the first components of the BLUETEC offensive. 2l87ucm.jpg 189.64K 92 downloads 2lw7w92.jpg 158.79K 47 downloads 2u9u4vq.jpg 133.67K 31 downloadstachment] 2wgbpmf.jpg 150.08K 75 downloads 4g44ql5.jpg 143.79K 32 downloads 4535t06.jpg 136.24K 33 downloadstachment] |
