vazut live hatchu ieri la Siab. Arata excelent la exterior. Interiorul este ok, insa anumite zone sunt garnisite cu plastic ieftin.
In ultima vreme gasesti plastic ieftin si in Mercedes asa ca nu m-ar suprinde deloc.

What is it?

Mazda’s new entry to the Passat class. Its designers say special efforts have been made to incorporate a genuinely Japanese aesthetic into the 6. Happily, the change of emphasis is subtle and does not damage the car’s suitability for Europe, where 450,000 of the total 1.3 million last-generation 6s have been sold since 2002, but it does successfully distinguish the new Mazda 6 from the rest of the horde.

Mazda does not hide the fact that the new 6 is based on the successful outgoing model. Critics agree the old car was good, they say, so why not use it as the basis for the new one?

There are, however, some surprising developments. The new model’s wheelbase has been extended 50mm, which improves rear legroom, and the car is 65mm longer overall though, at 4735mm, it’s still 30mm shorter than a Passat and 50mm shorter than the new Mondeo.

The extra length and enhancements to equipment and safety gear would under normal circumstances have added 90kg to the car, Mazda says, but a determined weight-saving campaign (including shaving 1.5kg from the audio system and 6.8kg from the interior trim) has cut kerb weight by 35kg.

The weight loss has not prevented Mazda improving body stiffness by around 30 per cent or cutting road noise by 2.5dB, an improvement they claim makes the car quietest in class.

An aerodynamic programme has also cut the 6’s drag factor to a class-leading 0.27. The suspension (still double wishbones in front and multilink behind) has been refined, the steering adopts a rack-mounted electric servo plus slightly faster gearing, and the front suspension subframe now has six mounting points to the body instead of four, cutting body vibrations.

There are three petrol engines and one diesel offered, as before, but the former 2.3-litre four has been bored and stroked so that it now displaces 2.5 litres and produces 168bhp at 6000rpm, along with 167lb ft of torque at developed at 4000 rpm.

All engines, because of the weight loss, aero improvements and subtle refinements such as lower rolling resistance, deliver economy (and CO2) improvements of between six and 12 per cent.
What’s it like?

When you’re settled behind the wheel, scanning the more sophisticated fascia design, there’s an overriding feeling of modernity and comfort, along with a new orderliness about the navigation/ventilation/trip computer display which Mazda labels CF-Net and claims as a safety feature because it distracts the driver less.

Our drive was very brief and restricted to a tight test track in Hungary, but the car’s solidity, its accurate steering and pleasantly predictable controls seemed a match for the best Europeans.

The 6 has exemplary cornering grip in the dry, it throttle-steers neatly for a big car, has powerful brakes and stays impressively stable even when grossly provoked.

The 2.5-litre engine is impressively torquey and mechanically refined, but whether the new Mazda can match a Mondeo for ride comfort or a Laguna over bumps are questions that must await more testing.
Should I buy one?

The outgoing Mazda 6 was an unsung hero in its class, and if anything, the new one will be even further up the pecking order. Expect this version to come in at around £19,500.

Un review pozitiv al variantei de baza 1.8.

Mazda 6 1.8 TS

http://www.autocarma...-1.8-TS/230218/

Sumar:

Design

The new car is 65mm longer, 15mm wider and sits on a wheelbase 50mm longer than before, but it’s still closer in size to its predecessor than to the outsized Mondeo.

You might expect the chassis’ engineering to mirror the Ford’s in the way that a Mazda 3 uses a Focus-based platform, but apart from sharing a similar multi-link rear suspension with blade-like trailing links, it does not. The front suspension is by double wishbones and the engines are all Mazda’s own.

As well as weighing less, the 6 has a much stiffer bodyshell than before. This has allowed bigger and softer suspension bushes and engine mountings without, it is claimed, losing out on precision in the driving experience. Aerodynamics are improved, too, with a Cd of 0.27.

ON THE ROAD

On first encounter, you’re struck by how easy and intuitive the Mazda 6 is to drive. Anyone can get into this car and drive it expertly.

Drive it gently and just a softness around the steering’s straight-ahead position clouds the picture. Drive it harder, though, and a vivid picture emerges.

Mazda has long thought that the way to make a front-wheel-drive car fun to drive is to make its cornering attitude very responsive to the throttle. Provided it doesn’t lead to a rapid build-up of yaw and a trip backwards into the hedge, it's exactly what you need to keep unwanted understeer in check.

This makes the Mazda very entertaining on a fast, twisting road, where it turns in eagerly and precisely, and cornering happens in an accurate, natural fashion with each movement blending tidily into the next.

Excellent damping helps the feeling of control, and it’s hard to think of a rival car as agile and dynamically capable, but the Mazda’s 1405kg is still a hefty burden for a 118bhp 1.8 to haul around.

We noticed on the Mazda 6 press launch that the 1.8 felt more eager at low revs than the petrol 2.0, but that’s a trick of perception brought about because those roles are reversed at high revs.

The reality is that the 1.8, while smooth enough and happy to rev, struggles when asked to pull the laden Mazda 6 up a motorway incline in its highest gear (fifth). You have to downshift and work it hard, upon which it picks up speed happily so you can resume the serene cruise which the relaxed gearing allows.

We coaxed the Mazda to 60mph in 10.1sec and on to 100mph in 33.9sec, figures which suggest that Mazda’s own claim of 11.6sec to 62mph (100km/h) sells its car short. The fact is that with a light load on board and a driver who is prepared to let the engine rev freely, even this slowest Mazda 6 is an engaging drive.

The brakes are up to the mark, too, with sensible weighting and progressive, snatch-free response.

INTERIOR

Starting a journey in the Mazda 6 is more of an occasion than you might expect. You get in, shut the door and the light show begins, with the gradual illumination of first the heater controls, then the stereo controls, then the words ‘zoom-zoom’ on the fascia-top display, and finally the white instrument needles.

Turn on the ignition and a three-note ‘zoom-zoom-zoom’ tune plays and the display bids you hello. Thankfully you can disable the tune but the rest stays.

That display has other tricks. It shows heater/air-con settings, stereo settings and a clock/trip computer readout, and you can alter all of these via the ‘CF-Net’ (‘cross-function network’) buttons and toggle on the steering wheel.

The orange graphics look a bit cheap, though, and the odometer, trip meter and outside temperature are hard to read for anyone with long-sightedness. The cabin itself looks crisp and modern, and uses genuinely high-quality materials.

Most people can get comfortable in the driving seat, which has the usual adjustments plus one for lumbar support. There’s a decent view forward, but reverse parking calls for some guesswork, especially when the windows mist up, as they are prone to do.

Rear space is generous for most family needs, though the rear-seats don't fold to give a flat load bay. Instead, Mazda has shaped the boot floor to meet the folded backrests, which means it slopes uphill and your luggage gradually migrates rearwards.

The Mazda looks good value next to its rivals, and there’s no price increase over the old model if you disregard the new one’s extra equipment. The plan is to raise the number of sales to company fleets who will like the fact that, in the 1.8’s case, official fuel figures show an economy improvement of around 12 per cent.

Our own test average was 28.4mpg, but on a long motorway run it managed a respectable 37.9mpg.

CONCLUZIE

Mazda knew the old 6’s weaknesses and has done an impressive job of eradicating them in this new version. The new 6 could wear a premium badge and be a credible rival to an Audi A4 or a BMW 3-series.

As it is, it’s competitively priced, given its equipment, and comes tantalisingly close to overall victory. It does this thanks partly to a pleasing, well designed interior and intelligent engineering, but mainly to its terrific handling and a compliant ride.

So could it go straight in at number one? That would be a bold verdict, and we should reserve that judgement until we have tried the rest of the range on British roads. Experience so far suggests its Mondeo arch-rival is ultimately more refined, for example. But if you love driving, the smaller, handier, more engaging Mazda could be the better choice.

Plasticele nu sunt chiar asa banale live, de fapt tot interiorul este bine finisat, mai putin partea superioara si inferioara a consolei centrale.
