Poate până la urmă o să vedem și Nations League pe digi.

Canal + a achiziționat drepturile? Dacă da, mi-aș face un abonament. Cică aplicația lor funcționează și pe teritoriul României. A dat Banciu ieri în emisiune toate detaliile. Se uita pe telefon la Monaco Marseille.

DAZN closing in on third-party Uefa rights in DACH region

Perform-owned OTT service DAZN is close to finalising a deal for third-party Uefa national-team rights in Germany, Austria and Switzerland,

Pro14 completes new international rights deals covering 30 markets

The Pro14 and its international media rights distributor, the RDA agency, have secured deals with multiple broadcasters covering 30 territories.
The cross-border rugby union league on Friday (August 31) announced new media-rights deals with: pay-television broadcaster ESPN in the US; Perform-owned OTT service DAZN in Canada, Germany, Switzerland and Austria (DAZN had already secured rights in Italy via a separate agreement); rugby-focused OTT service RugbyPass in 23 Southeast Asian territories, plus Australia; and pay-television broadcaster Sky New Zealand. All four agreements are for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.

RDA is distributing Pro14 rights outside the competing nations (the UK, Ireland, Italy and sub-Saharan Africa), from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
Under the ESPN deal, all 152 matches per season will be available in the US: 142 matches per season via direct-to-consumer streaming service ESPN+ and 10 showcase matches per season on a linear ESPN channel.

The RugbyPass deal covers rights in: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Epsilon to be the free-to-air home of the Greek national football team

Free-to-air Uefa European Qualifier and Nations League rights in Greece has been cleared up with commercial broadcaster Epsilon TV confirming its new deal.
The deal is in partnership with the advertising agency IPG Mediabrands and will cover all Greek national team matches over four-seasons, from 2018-19 to 2021-22.

The deal between IPG and CAA Eleven – Uefa’s sales agent for its national-team competitions – was completed earlier this year. Since signing, IPG has been seeking a broadcast partner. Epsilon will exploit the rights in exchange for airtime for IPG clients.

In March, Epsilon acquired rights to two Greek national team friendly matches, against Egypt and Switzerland. The deals were Epsilon’s first sports-rights acquisitions.
Pay-television rights for Uefa European Qualifier and Nations League matches, from 2018-19 to 2021-22, are held by Cosmote.

Saada guarantees Canal Plus will show Ligue 1 beyond 2020

Maxime Saada, chairman of the board of Canal Plus (pictured, right), has said the French pay-television broadcaster will continue to show Ligue 1 matches after 2020.
At the end of May, Canal Plus lost out in the bidding for top-tier domestic Ligue 1 rights from 2020-21 to 2023-24, with Spanish agency Mediapro and pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports winning out. Canal Plus has held Ligue 1 rights continuously since 1984.

In an interview with French radio station France Inter yesterday (September 3), Saada said: “The title of one of your shows at the time was ‘Canal Plus will not show any Ligue 1 in 2020’. That’s false. Canal Plus has lost rights to Ligue 1 – that’s true. But to say today we will not broadcast any of Ligue 1…I can guarantee you that we will show Ligue 1 post-2020, I guarantee you. I am certain of it.”

Saada said Mediapro had contacted Canal Plus to initiate carriage negotiations. Mediapro plans to launch a 24/7 football channel following its acquisition of Ligue 1 rights. Saada added that Canal Plus is negotiating with telco Altice to carry its RMC Sport pay-television channels (formerly SFR Sport) and that a deal to have access to some of the RMC Sport channels “on the near horizon” is “possible”.

RMC Sport holds English Premier League rights in France until the end of the 2018-19 season and will shortly begin its exclusive coverage of Uefa Champions League and Europa League rights in the country. Saada said: “When we lost the Premier League, we said it was the best football league in Europe but it has disappeared from circulation. It’s been shown by SFR for two years but no-one watches it anymore. There is an issue of exposure, and it is the same for Ligue 1.”

Eleven hires de Sousa as distribution becomes top Portuguese priority

Eleven Sports’ appointment of Jorge Pavão de Sousa as managing director of its Portuguese operation appears to be directed at agreeing carriage deals with the country's major pay-television operators.

With rights to domestic football, the big five European leagues and Uefa's club competitions sold for the foreseeable future, de Sousa's primary responsibility is likely to be bridging the distribution gap between pay-television broadcaster Eleven and its rival Sport TV. Eleven is currently carried on just one Portuguese pay-television operator: Nowo. The three other major operators in the country – Nos, Portugal Telecom and Vodafone – all have 25-per-cent stakes in pay-television broadcaster Sport TV.

De Sousa’s experience working for Portugal Telecom and Vodafone, as well the relationships forged at those companies, could help Eleven convince Sport TV's shareholders to carry its channel. Wider distribution will be essential for Eleven if it wants to recoup its spend on rights to the Uefa Champions League, Spain’s LaLiga, the German Bundesliga, Formula One and France's Ligue 1.

Pink picks up Uefa national team rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Commercial broadcaster Pink BH has completed a sublicensing deal with the United Group in Bosnia and Herzegovina for rights to first- and second-party Uefa European Qualifiers and Nations League matches, along with all matches from Euro 2020. The four-season deal, from 2018-19 to 2021-22, comes two weeks after commercial network Nova TV sublicensed the same set of rights in Croatia from United Group, which owns pay-television broadcaster Sportklub.

In both deals, United Group has not sublicensed to the public-service broadcasters – BHRT in Bosnia and Herzegovina and HRT in Croatia – which held the same set of rights in the previous four-season cycle, from 2014-15 to 2017-18. Sportklub acquired all national-team rights sold by Uefa in each Balkan market last year but was under no obligation to sublicense to a free-to-air broadcaster by the governing body.

Nent to show Joshua v Povetkin title on pay-per-view across Nordics

The Nordic Entertainment Group (Nent) has acquired rights to the world heavyweight title bout between Anthony Joshua (pictured) and Alexander Povetkin on September 22.
Multi-territory pay-television operator and broadcaster Nent, formerly known as Modern Times Group, will exploit the rights via its pay-per-view service Viaplay across the Nordics, with the event priced at NOK499 ($59).
Nent also released news of its acquisition of rights to the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight title bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor – also to be exploited on Viaplay for NOK499.
However, Nent did not acquire rights to this fight separately. Nent holds exclusive rights to all UFC events in the Nordics in a four-year deal, from 2016 to 2019.

IMG expected to go market-by-market with MLS rights after Eurosport pulls out

The IMG agency is expected to sell rights to Major League Soccer across Europe on a market-by-market basis from next season following Eurosport’s decision not to renew its deal for the next four-year cycle, from 2019 to 2022

IndyCar puts international rights sale on hold ahead of Alonso talks

IndyCar is delaying the sale of its international media rights until its teams and drivers for 2019 are confirmed, as ex-Formula One driver Fernando Alonso and Formula One manufacturer McLaren are strongly rumoured to join the series.TV Sports Markets understands discussions between IndyCar and media-rights agencies began in March after IndyCar completed a new US rights deal with media company NBCUniversal, from 2019 to 2021.

IndyCar believes its international media rights would be worth significantly more should Alonso and McLaren compete from 2019. ESPN Media Distribution, which holds international rights to the series until the end of 2018, wants to retain its rights. The IMG agency is also thought to have held discussions with IndyCar about taking the rights from 2019. Prior to the agency's collapse, MP & Silva was also interested.

DirecTV claims to have secured Ecuadorian football team rights

Pay-television operator DirecTV claims it has secured domestic rights to matches of Ecuador’s national football team. DirecTV’s sports manager, José Antonio Cárdenas, is reported to have claimed yesterday in an interview with Radio Stereo Fiesta that DirecTV will show friendly matches and home Fifa World Cup qualifier matches of the Ecuador national team from 2018-19 to 2021-22.

Cárdenas said matches would be available on a pay-per-view basis and that this Friday’s friendly match (September 7) against Jamaica would cost $10. Ecuador’s friendly match against Guatemala, on September 11, will cost the same amount. The report comes after the Ecuadorian football federation chose to launch a second tender for international rights to the national team’s Fifa World Cup qualifier and friendly matches. Pay-television broadcaster Gol TV won international rights to Ecuador’s home qualifiers and friendly matches in the initial process late last year.

Sony bolsters its football portfolio with Nations League

Sony Pictures Networks India has continued its recent burst of European football acquisitions in the Indian subcontinent, picking up rights to the Uefa Nations League in 2018-19 and 2020-21. Rajesh Kaul, chief revenue officer distribution and head of sports said: “Our objective is to bring the best footballing action from around the world making the sports channels of SPN the premier destination for all sports fans.”

In August, Sony acquired rights to the Euro 2020 tournament. Sony also held rights to Euro 2016, along with Uefa European Qualifiers in a four-season deal, from 2014-15 to 2017-18. Sony has also sublicensed rights to Spain’s LaLiga from Facebook, covering the 2018-19 season only. It has acquired rights to the English FA

Cup and Italian Serie A in separate three-season deals with the IMG agency, both from 2018-19 to 2020-21. Last week, Sony renewed rights to the Uefa Champions League and Europa League across the Indian subcontinent.

Uefa and CAA Eleven complete raft of late deals

Uefa and its sales agent, CAA Eleven, have finalised multiple deals for national-team media rights around the world with the Nations League to begin this evening (September 6), TV Sports Markets understands. In Europe, deals have been struck in Armenia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Ireland and San Marino. In Asia, deals have been agreed in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar and Vietnam. All deals are for the full four-season cycle, from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
In Armenia, public-service broadcaster Public TV Company of Armenia will show all matches of the Armenia national team (first- and second-party) while free-to-air broadcaster Shant TV has acquired rights to all other matches (third-party).

In Bulgaria, public-service broadcaster BNT will show all Uefa national-team matches (first-, second- and third-party matches). Cypriot public-service broadcaster CyBC will show all matches of the Cyprus national team (first- and second-party) while telco Cyta will broadcast all other matches (third-party matches). Both deals were reported by TV Sports Markets in July.

In Ireland, pay-television broadcaster Sky will exclusively show matches of the Ireland national team (first- and second-party) in the Nations League – Irish public-service broadcaster RTÉ had already struck a deal for Ireland European Qualifier matches (first- and second-party). Telco Virgin Media has acquired all third-party matches in Ireland. In San Marino, public-service broadcaster San Marino RTV has acquired highlights rights to San Marino home matches (first-party) and live rights to away matches (second-party).

Across Asia, deals have been struck for rights to all matches from European Qualifiers, the Nations League and other friendly matches. Rights have been acquired by: pay-television broadcaster i-Cable in Hong Kong; pay-television broadcaster Astro in Malaysia – TV Sports Markets reported this was likely in December; commercial broadcaster NTV in Mongolia; pay-television broadcaster SkyNet in Myanmar; and Vietnamese pay-television broadcaster VTVcab.
Sony Pictures Networks India has also acquired all rights across the Indian subcontinent, as well as rights to the Euro 2020 tournament.

RTV Slovenija to broadcast national team football following sublicensing deal

Slovenian public-service broadcaster RTV Slovenija is the latest to sublicense rights to Uefa national-team matches from the United Group.
The deal includes rights to all matches involving the Slovenian national football team in the 2018-19 Nations League tournament and European Qualifiers for the Euro 2020 tournament. The deal begins with today's (September 6) Nations League match against Bulgaria.

The United Group has already announced deals in Croatia with Nova TV and Bosnia and Herzegovina with Pink BiH, and further deals are expected. United Group acquired all Uefa national-team rights across all six Balkan markets last year. The United Group has recently acquired Nova TV, and in June it sought approval for the 100-per-cent acquisition of Direct Media – owners of the Pink BiH channel.

DirecTV continues partnership with Uefa for national team rights

As reported in TV Sports Markets last month, pay-television operator DirecTV has acquired rights to Uefa European Qualifiers and the Uefa Nations League in a four-season deal, from 2018-19 to 2021-22. DirecTV will hold rights in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Pay-television operator Sky México will hold rights across Central America, including Mexico. It is unclear whether rights have been sold in Paraguay and Bolivia. Rights in Brazil were sold separately in a deal with pay-television broadcaster Esporte Interativo.

While the Nations League is a new competition for 2018-19, DirecTV and Sky were the incumbent broadcasters of European Qualifiers in the previous cycle, from 2014-15 to 2017-18. The Nations League begins tonight (Thursday, September 6).

CBS to stream Super Bowl for free on mobile devices

US broadcaster CBS has announced plans to stream the Super Bowl for free across multiple platforms.
The move means fans will be able to watch the National Football League’s (NFL) showpiece final without a sign-in across CBS Sports’ website, mobile apps and its All Access subscription service. According to the plan, mobile users will also receive access to direct transmission from Super Bowl LIII via CBS partner applications such as cable and satellite operators, telecommunications operators and streaming services. CBS mobile apps are currently available on a variety of connected devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox One and Amazon channels.

The move means more NFL content will be available for free this season than ever before. The league is seeking to address its declining ratings and connect with younger audiences. Any wireless customer will now be able to watch in-market and national games on both phones and tablets for free. The only restriction is that seven games exclusive to the NFL Network channel can be viewed only on phones with a cellular connection meaning the games cannot be streamed over a Wi-Fi connection or on a tablet.
The league has placated cable networks by offering them the opportunity to sell the majority of adverts appearing on these subscription-free streams. Distributors such as Verizon get the remainder.

The subscription-free games will be available on the NFL app and Verizon-owned Yahoo Sports, Tumblr and AOL apps in the US. On iPhones and iPads, games can also be streamed on the Safari web browser. Verizon lost exclusive mobile rights to NFL games last December, gaining instead the right to live-stream the sport to any mobile device nationwide. CBS has expanded its streaming deal with the NFL to include mobile rights for the first time. That particular arrangement was one of several similar tie-ups negotiated by the league after Verizon lost exclusive mobile rights.
