Edited by leo10, 29 August 2018 - 20:30. |

@FANCHELSEA-BVB-MILAN, este foarte mult fotbal.
DAZN pays up to keep hold of Serie A in Germany and Austria Perform-owned OTT service DAZN has paid an increase of close to 70 per cent to retain its hold on rights to Italy’s Serie A in Germany and Austria. IMG increases value of LaLiga and Serie A in tough Romanian market Telekom Romania and Digi Sport have continued to acquire premium European football content in Romania this month with deals for rights to Spain’s LaLiga, Italy’s Serie A and Germany’s Bundesliga. Mediapro/beIN acquire Serie A rights in Spain Rights to Italy’s Serie A in Spain have been acquired by the joint venture of the Mediapro agency and pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports. Spanish news website Palco said the length of the deal is unknown but that one match per match-week will be shown via digital-terrestrial broadcaster Gol, with other matches shown on OTT service beIN Connect. For the first two match-weeks so far this season Gol has shown one match per match-week with two matches per match-week shown on beIN Connect. Mediapro/beIN struck the Serie A deal with the IMG agency, which is distributing Serie A international rights over three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21. Two weeks ago, Palco also reported that beIN Connect will show top matches from France’s Ligue 1 in Spain. Lega Serie A set to decide Coppa Italia and Supercoppa international rights Winners of international rights to the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana are set to be announced when Lega Serie A holds its first assembly of the 2018-19 season on September 12. The Calcio e finanza website reported that the league began private negotiations with potential rights-holders on July 16. The rights will be sold for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21. In the previous three-season cycle, from 2015-16 to 2017-18, rights were acquired by the B4 Capital agency. In that tender, the league offered the rights as a single package only. In the new tender, the league is open to three types of bid: international; international excluding Mena; and Mena. Public-service broadcaster Rai in May acquired domestic rights to both competitions over the same three seasons in a deal worth €35.5m per season. UFC deal with Ten sets out path to Whittaker title defence The UFC’s deal with commercial broadcaster Ten in Australia will provide its middleweight champion Robert Whittaker with much-needed exposure ahead of his first title defence in December. Whittaker (pictured), the UFC’s first Australian champion, will be a coach on the promotion’s Ultimate Fighter reality series. Ten will hold rights to the Ultimate Fighter, its Finale event on December 1, and the UFC’s Fight Night event in Adelaide, Australia on December 2. It will not hold rights to Whittaker’s title defence, which will be pay-per-view on pay-television operator Foxtel and IPTV platform Fetch. Whittaker will face American middleweight Kelvin Gastelum on either December 7 or December 28. The UFC is refocusing its efforts on international exposure now that it has secured a five-year, $1.5bn deal in the US with pay-television broadcaster ESPN – one of its key revenue streams. Its deals in Australia, with Foxtel and Fetch, expire at the end of this year. The UFC and its owner Endeavor will expect a large increase should Whittaker remain champion going into 2019. ESPN to put OVC events on ESPN+ in contract extension OTT service ESPN+ will add a minimum of 600 Ohio Valley Conference events to its portfolio in an extension of its media-rights contract with the collegiate athletic conference. The deal will increase the amount of exposure the conference will receive, albeit online only. ESPN+ will begin broadcasting OVC events on August 30, with the first of its 36 OVC American football games to be streamed this season. The OVC men’s basketball championship game will continue to be broadcast on a linear ESPN channel, along with the American football “Game of the Week”. This month, ESPN has also added rights to Italian Serie A, the English FA Cup and several European football leagues. A subscription to ESPN+ costs $4.99 a month, or $49.99 per year. Eleven’s big wheel keeps turning in Portugal after new F1 deal Eleven Sports’ acquisition of Formula One in Portugal will bring diversity to its offering in the country but will have little impact on market leader Sport TV’s business. Eleven will hold Formula One rights for three years, from 2019 to 2021, replacing pay-television broadcaster Eurosport as the motorsport series’ exclusive broadcaster in the country. Eurosport will hold rights until the end of the 2018 season and is unlikely to have bid aggressively to retain them. The broadcaster will rely on its portfolio of tennis and cycling in Portugal – the backbone of its pan-European portfolio. Sport TV held exclusive rights to Formula One in 2017, sublicensing them from Eurosport. It renewed this deal in 2018. While Sport TV can still claim dominance – it holds rights to all domestic football, the English Premier League and Serie A – Eleven took Uefa Champions League and Spanish LaLiga rights from Sport TV earlier in the summer, bringing competition to a previously lifeless Portuguese market. De exemplu Germania-Franta in prima zi. Vom avea, probabil, Romania sigur + cel mai bun meci a zilei in celelalte zile. Plus ca au si PRO X-ul acum. |

Europa League stays flat in Hungary after big Champions League increase
Uefa has now completed its media-rights sales for its club competitions in Hungary after sealing new Europa League deals with pay-television broadcaster Digi Sport and media group AMC Networks. Uefa to introduce third-tier club competition from 2021 Uefa is set to create a third-tier club competition behind the Champions League and Europa League from 2021, according to German magazine Sport Bild. The creation of the as-yet unnamed third-tier competition will see a restructuring of the second-tier Europa League, which will be reduced from 48 to 32 clubs. The new third-tier competition will consist of 32 clubs. The Champions League will continue to be contested by 32 clubs. Uefa, football’s European governing body, hopes that reducing the number of teams in the Europa League will increase the quality of the competition, leading to greater revenue from media and marketing rights. The creation of a new competition, with clubs from new albeit smaller countries, will also increase the value of media rights in these markets. The third tier is expected to be in operation for the next three-season cycle, from 2021-22 to 2023-24. Sport TV stops the rot in Portugal with Premier League retention Sport TV has retained its grip on English Premier League rights in Portugal, a key victory for the broadcaster against new competitor Eleven Sports. Pay-television broadcaster Sport TV will continue to hold exclusive English Premier League rights for the next three seasons, from 2019-20 to 2021-22. The new deal means it keeps hold of two of its three crown jewels, along with exclusive rights to domestic football. Sport TV will also hold pay-television rights to the Europa League for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21. Pay-television broadcaster Eleven made a dramatic entrance to the Portuguese market earlier this summer, acquiring pay-television rights to the Uefa Champions League and exclusive rights to Spain’s LaLiga and France’s Ligue 1. It has since acquired rights to the German Bundesliga, from 2018-19 to 2020-21, and Formula One from 2019 to 2021. |
