GM’s Hummer division and NASCAR bad boy Robby Gordon announced Monday that they will team up to take on the Dakar Rally. Gordon will lead Team Dakar USA in a custom HUMMER H3 race truck in the 16-stage, 6,000 mile cross-country rally. Gordon will also drive an H3 in the 2006 Baja 1000 and Baja 500.

The race truck will pair an H3 body with a tube-frame custom chassis and suspension, similar to the Trophy Trucks raced in the Baja desert races, but with the addition of a fully enclosed, air conditioned cockpit. A production-based GM V8 will provide the motivation.

Gordon previously ran a similar truck in the Dakar, winning two stages.

This marks another step in GM’s plan to make HUMMER a global brand, after starting European sales this summer. The Dakar Rally is hugely popular in Europe, and attracts strong manufacturer support.

Sa vedem ce piloti vor avea!!Concurenta este acerba: Mitsubishi este ultima castigatoare,Nissan este si ea in carti,VW a debutat excelent cu Touareg (a clasat prima masina cu motor diesel pe podium),plus surprizele furnizate de pilotii independenti!!! :peacefingers:

ce tare au pus grila aia pe carcasa de fibra... doar doar o semana cu modelul "de serie"

oricum la toate masinile astea caroseria aia e doar o coala de tabla ca sa zic asa care imita forma unui automobil caruia vor sa ii faca reclama.

"Standardul de aur" în chirurgia hipofizară îl reprezintă endoscopia transnazală transsfenoidală.
