Stiri calde...
Alcatel-Lucent Forms Coalition To Promote 4G Alcatel-Lucent has formed the ng Connect Program, a multi-industry initiative dedicated to “establishing a rich and diverse ecosystem of infrastructure, devices, content and applications for both mobile and fixed broadband networks including 4G, Long Term Evolution (LTE), GPON and other ultra high bandwidth technologies”. It wants to include mobile phones, computers, cars, gaming systems and other devices…such as cars. The focus appears to be on LTE, but the wording is technology neutral and Alcatel-Lucent is involved in WiMax. Initially the group is “concentrating on marketing LTE-based services for five different areas: media and entertainment, e-healthcare, automotive connectivity, mobile advertising and emergency messaging, and cloud computing” reports Network World. The organization, which includes Samsung, Motorola,QNX Software Systems and mobile platform company TuneWiki, wants to broaden the scope of devices that connect to ultra-high bandwidth technologies. Milan to Get Mobile Data Speed Upgrade to 28Mbps Ericsson and Telecom Italia have announced plans to deploy a network upgrade offering peak mobile download speeds of up to 28Mbps in early 2009. The MIMO upgrade in the city of Milan will also offer peak upload speeds of 5.8Mbps. Actual customer download speeds can be less and will vary due to congestion, distance from the cell, local conditions, hardware, software and other factors. Tests in Telecom Italia's mobile network will start early 2009 and initial deployment is planned in the city of Milan in June 2009. National coverage will follow in the second half of 2009. The deployment will include Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO), a technology that uses two or more antenna branches to transmit data to a consumer. This makes it possible to provide higher data rates to each user and improve the spectrum efficiency in the radio network. Vodafone has also been testing MIMO technology on its networks in Spain and Portugal. ps. De urmarit si evolutia MIMO Edited by Jean Gary Diablo, 18 February 2009 - 18:09. |

Edited by akajohn, 18 February 2009 - 21:37. |

Asa ti-a spus seful ? Am vazut si eu chinezi nu chiar asa. Oricum a fost naspa anul asta. Ceva ...ceva pe la Ericsson in rest nimic. Edited by mihaisg, 25 February 2009 - 00:15. |

Edited by rdh30flda, 25 February 2009 - 22:51. |
