Instalare MAC OS X

Mie imi merge absolut normal pe un laptop Toshiba... Nu se comporta deloc dubios fata de un Mac...

@initiator: Este ilegal sa-l instalezi pe hardware non apple, insa daca tot vrei asta si reusesti si te gandesti sa-l pastrezi pentru ca iti place, ar fi frumos sa cumperi o licenta care nu costa prea mult, eu am dat in jur de 100 ron pe ea.

Si cu actualizarile cum faci ?

Am facut primele update-uri dupa ce l-am instalat si au mers, insa la cateva zile au mai venit niste update-uri si nu a mai mers sistem-ul a trebuit sa`l reinstalez. Deocamdata nu am gasit o cale sa instalez toate update-urile de sistem.

Asa se intampla. Si merita toata munca ? Pentru productie (lucrul de zi cu zi) nu cred.

Instalare Mac OSX SL distro Hazard Intel/Amd 10.6.2 pe PC AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+, Nvidia Geforce 8600 256 Mb, Motherboard MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 (MS-7309v2.x), Chipset nVidia nForce 630a, 4 GB RAM, LAN Realtek RTL8103EL, Audio Realtek ALC888S, HDD IDE 80GB
I. Pregatirea PC-ului
1. Update BIOS
2. Setari in BIOS: Disable HPET (altfel vei avea problem cu tastaura si mouse-ul), S3 in Power Management, ACPI Enable, HDD on IDE. Vezi ca la secventa de bootare sa fie ordinea CD/DVD apoi hdd pe care vrei sa instalezi OSX
II. Instalare OSX SL
1. boot DVD cu distro Hazard Intel/Amd 10.6.2, in meniul de boot  F8, apoi –v –x  -f cpus=1 maxmem=2048
2. dupa de booteaza in verbose mode (apar un sir lung de text in care iti arata posibile erori si ce parti din sistem nu sunt recunoscute pe care le pori rezolva ulterior dupa tutorialul de mai jos in engleza) urmeaza partea de Setup Install: a. Alegi Limba, b. Trebuie formatat HDD – selecteaza Disk Utility/Partiton (la Volume Information treci: Name - OSX, Format Mac  OS – Extended Journaled). La Option vezi sa fie selectat GUID mode. Poti alege si MBR pentru ca HDD sa fie vazut in Windows insa este indicat sa fie ales modul GUID;
3. Next/ Alege HDD formatat anterior/ Customize sau Custom/ Aici ai un menu cu o serie de optiuni compatibile cu sistemul tau – trebuie sa sti ce sistem ai inainte de a te apuca de instalare  - foloseste in windows Everst si noteaza componentele PC-ului/ in cazul meu am bifat cele doua update-uri de sus, Legacy_kernel, ElliotRTCKext, AMD/ Install –va dura aprox 30 min/ Restart.
4. Scoateti DVD-ul din unitate

III. Setari post instalare (pt kext-uri de mai jos cautati pe Google)

Daca totul decurge bine vei putea boota in OSX SL.  Iata cateva setari postinstalare pentru a avea un Hakcintosh AMD full working:

In chameleon boot apasa F8 si scrie urm comenzi: cpus=1 busratio=20  maxmem=3072.

- patch DSDT: Finder/OSX – Hdd de instalare/DSDT Patcher/DSDT Patcher GUI iti va instala un fisier in root-ul HD sub forma dsdt.aml
- in cazul unui system AMD trebuie folosit Marvin’s Utility ( pe care il gasiti in applications).
- Pt LAN insatalati RealtekRTL81xx_0_0_67_.pkg pentru a scoate kext incompatibil care blocheaza activearea internetului (Self-assign IP), restart/ apoi instealaza RTGMac_v2.0.6.  Dupa ce internetul functioneaza putem face upgrade la 10.6.8 astfel: intaleaza legacy_kernel 10.6.8 (bifeaza –forceAMD si nu da restart), instalaeza combo update 10.6.8 (nu da restart), reinstaleaza legacy_kernelul (bifeza –ForceAMD) – Restart. (Pentru a verifica daca update-ul a fost facut verifica in about this mac –da-i pe mar ☺ ).
- Pentru audio instaleaza VoodooHDA.kext ultimul daca il gasesti
- Pt video foloseste EFI Studio din Applications.  La display cauta placa video pe care o ai, in cazul meu nVidia Geforce 8600 GT 256 mb/ Add Device/ write to com.apple.boot.plist/ restart vei avea functionala si partea grafica.
- pentru a scapa de cpus=1 instaleaza VoodooTSCSyncAMD.kext
- - o serie de bootflags trebuie puse si in com.apple.boot.plist astfel Finder/Extra/ pune com.apple.boot.plist pe desktop si editeaza-l: Apasa triunghiul de la Root/ Apoi editeaza astfel Kernel Flags si la String scrii dupa –forece AMD: arch=i386, busratio=20 maxmem=3072. Pune-l inapoi in folder. Acelasi lucru tb facut si pt com.apple.boot.plist si din  Finder/Hdd de instalare/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

La final dechide Kext Utility din Applications sau OSx86 Tools/ bifeaza Repair Permissions si Set Extensions permissions.
Trebuie sa urmezi si tutorialul de mai jos pentru a avea un OSX SL functional 100%.
Pentru a vedea erorile ce pot fi corecatate F8 la boot si scrie: –v –forceAMD arch=i386, busratio=20 maxmem=3072

Below is a summary on how I fixed all the errors/warnings after the upgrade (I'm not sure if what I've done it's safe or not. Any suggestion is welcome).


1- warning: skipping personalities in blacklisted kext com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement
This is not an error. It's just the legacy kernel that skip the loading of this Kext because unsupported on AMD cpus.
I removed this kext (and also the client one) from S/L/E and warning disappeared.
The same apply to others "Skipping personalities" msgs.

2-AppleNForceATA: warning: phy connection failed, AppleNForceATA: found 0 units
It should not be an error, but just a msg telling that the the drive is not ready. After that it should come a new msg saying something like "phy reset done".

3-Refusing new kext com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily, v2.6.5: already have loaded v6.6.
This is not an error, it's just the kernel saying that it has been loaded custom kexts instead the ones that come with 10.6.8 (Not sure, but I think they're the old 10.6.7 ones).
This happen because the new kexts doesn't work for AMD users (PCI config error and no video at all).
To remove warnings I just deleted the original Kexts from S/L/E and moved the new "EvilAppleACPIPlatform.kext" and "EvilIOPCIFamily.kext" into S/L/E.

4-VooDooHDA warnings/errors.
Probably it was an older version. Once installed 2.7.3 everything was fine

5-Decryption hasn't succeeded yet (probably will retry),patch_exec_obj_segment failed,map_segment failed
These erros seems to be related to the fact that decryption fail until dsmos arrive. It should be normal and once the msg "DSMOS arrived" appear, they just stop coming.
If I'm not wrong decryption is performed from FakeSMC, a service that load on system startup. Without this service, the boot fail.
One interesting thing I discovered is that after patching the CPUIDS with Marvin utility, all the errors disappeared and the system was able to fully boot even
without FakeSMc, and faster. Unfortunately Marvin AMD Utility is has been discontinued time ago and doens't work well on SL. The app crash during the patching process.
I certainly prefer to free the system from a service that load on startup, but I'm not sure if patching manually CPUIDS is better (expecially with an app that crash in the middle of the job).
Any comment/suggestion is welcome.

6-ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPower Management) timed out
WARNING: IOPlatformPluginUtil : getCPUIDInfo unknown CPU family: family 0xf, model 0x7f
-- power management may be incomplete or unsupported

Should be normal since the IntelCPUpOwer management Kext has been disabled. I still didn't found any fix for that because ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin seem to be an essential service.
Without this plugin the boot fail.
The CPU should stay safe because power management will be handled directly from NULLCPUPowerManagement loaded from the kernel.


7- the final "AppleNForceATA: found 0 units." that slowdown the boot process.
Seem to be related to the Nforce4 chipset. I found a plugin called speedupsl_nforce. It works and desktop load immediately.

8- DSDT patching. I created a new patched DSDT file with DSDT patcher and loaded it, but sincerely I didn't noticed anything different with or without.
The same happen if I use a preset smsbios file available in the bootloader (except some new errors on boot if I use MacPro as bios file).
I'm not sure if these files are really required on AMD machines.


I think that the above is acceptable, the OS load within 15 seconds and it's very stable.
The only problem is that I didn't found a way to get the sleep function to work. The system doesn't enter in sleep mode using the pc power button, but it does when I try directly from the OS.
I can only wake up with the pc power button and when the desktop reload, if I try to run an app, the system freeze and I have to force shut down by hardware.
I don't know what could be the cause, I tried with and without sleepenabler, different settings on bootloader/bios, but nothing changed. Maybe because sleep function just doesn't work on AMD processors
