Quote The Wiesmann GT has been on sale for almost two years now and in that time there have been very little changes to the car’s specifications. The GT has always been powered by a BMW-sourced 4.8L V8 engine but now rumor has it there are plans to launch a model powered by the 5.0L V10 from BMW’s M performance division. We could even see the new super-GT as early as next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Weighing just 1,250kg, a Wiesmann GT packing the 507hp (373kW) V10 engine would offer a significant leap in performance when compared with the 362hp (270kW) currently available. Expect performance to better the current car’s 0-100km/h time of 4.6 seconds and top speed of 280km/h. Much of the GT’s internals are already sourced from BMW, although there are some unique elements such as the aluminum suspension and body structure as well as the carbon-fiber panels. If given the green light, we think Wiesmann may just outdo TVR as the maker of the world’s craziest cars. Fișiere atașate |

Wiesmann will be showing their new GT MF 5 for the first time in Frankfurt, but not at the 62nd IAA. Wiesmann will be opening their first own dealership on the Frankfurt car mile which will function as the venue for the debut of the new 507 hp GT MF 5 on September 10th, the night before the Frankfurt Motor Show opens its doors to the press.
The new GT is powered by BMW's V10, also found in the BMW M5 and M6. Production of the new GT will not commence just yet, because testing of the car has not been finalised yet. AutoTelegraaf.nl claims that the RWD system is not yet fully finished and expects the first units to arrive at the brand new dealership mid 2008. http://www.worldcarf...t-mf5-announced |
