Pictures are great as examples and text is easy to read and understand. Light: Science and Magic: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting [ http://i38.tinypic.com/2m601f8.jpg - Pentru incarcare in pagina (embed) Click aici ] Light: Science and Magic: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting by Fil Hunter, Paul Fuqua Publisher: Focal Press Number Of Pages: 360 Publication Date: 1997-02-26 This highly respected text, now in paperback, has been thoroughly updated and revised. It introduces a logical theory of photographic lighting --- one that teaches beginning photographers to predict results before setting up lights. This is not primarily a how-to book with only set examples for photographers to follow. Rather, Light: Science and Magic provides the reader with a comprehensive theory of the nature and principles of light to allow individual photographers to use lighting to express their own creativity. Numerous photographs and illustrations provide clear examples of the theories delineated within the text, while sidebars highlight special lighting questions. Although styles of photographic lighting continue to change, Light: Science and Magic does not go out of fashion because it is not based on style; rather it is based on the behavior of light. These principles will not change until fundamental physics does.*Now in paperback*Highly respected text on lighting theory covering the principles, applications, and equipment for informed lighting decisions*Sidebars highlight special lighting questions Digital Photography in Available Light: Essential Skills, Third Edition [ http://i34.tinypic.com/9iu68i.jpg - Pentru incarcare in pagina (embed) Click aici ] Digital Photography in Available Light: Essential Skills, Third Edition (Photography Essential Skills) 234 pages | Focal Press; 3 edition (April 27, 2006) | ISBN: 0240520130 | PDF | 23 Mb "Digital Photography in Available Light: Essential Skills is maybe the best book currently available on digital photography with available light." -Joe Farace, Shutterbug Blue Pixel Guide to Travel Photography Perfect Photos Every Time [ http://i35.tinypic.com/24e24cj.jpg - Pentru incarcare in pagina (embed) Click aici ] Blue Pixel Guide to Travel Photography Perfect Photos Every Time: When it comes to learning how to take great travel photographs, who better to learn from than the pros whose work graces the pages of all those travel magazines and brochures you've examined longingly? The Best of Dean Collins on Lighting DVDrip
[ http://www.doubleexposure.com/uploads/collinsbest3d.jpg - Pentru incarcare in pagina (embed) Click aici ] A guiding light to a generation of photographers, Dean Collins revolutionized the profession of photography with an energetic approach and a sincere desire to share his timeless wisdom with anyone eager to learn. He was in demand as a speaker on every continent, and was often requested to photograph heads of state, many of the world’s best athletes, and some of the most famous entertainers known today. Sadly, after fighting cancer for three years, he passed away in February 2005, at the age of 51. But his spirit and passion for photographic education live on. To honor Collins, Software Cinema re-released a remix of The Best of Dean Collins on Lighting in a four DVD set, packing in over six hours of training tutorials from the original Finelight Video series on VHS. Quite literally a fountain of photographic knowledge, Collins speaks at a somewhat expeditious pace in these videos—but you almost don’t even have to listen to what he’s saying—you can absorb it through osmosis as he demonstrates how to think about light and take command of the environment down to the slightest detail, instead of being a slave to the harsh midday sun. With a technical precision second-to-none, Collins is clearly not the type of photographer who wildly takes a lot of pictures in the hopes that a few of them miraculously turn out the way he had envisioned. As a proactive photographer, his method is one of efficiency and control. When Collins goes to work, there are no wasted motions as he solves and guides you through each lighting situation like a simple math problem. Whether it’s a commercial shoot in a studio or a portrait shoot outdoors for a model’s portfolio, Collins approaches basic and advanced photographic theories in a way both beginners and professionals can easily understand and apply. Watch a sample video from Disc 4 “Collins on Basics," which, as the title suggests, covers fundamental lighting concepts every good photographer should know. He hammers the key components of lighting control into your brain until it becomes instinctual. For anyone who is serious about being a profitable photographer, The Best of Dean Collins on Lighting is an essential addition to your library and is destined to become a classic. Though the fashions and hairstyles are a little dated, the lighting concepts still hold true, as they always will, and remain just as important in today’s predominantly digital world. And no one explains those concepts better and more simply than Collins. Edited by caramell, 29 April 2009 - 10:28. |

Bobbi covers everything from the direction and quality of light to posing your subject and metering your set in order to get the most out a sitting. Using three different models and a variety of setups, you will see Bobbi utilize a broad spectrum of lighting accessories and light control tools, and seeing the effects of each. For reference, each piece of equipment used is highlighted at the conclusion of each chapter. Subjects include: Posing techniques for headshots, 3/4, and full length Grooming and corrective techniques Lighting patterns Names and uses of lights Placement of lights How strobes work Metering techniques with strobes and incident meters Selecting the proper light modifier Umbrellas, beauty dishes, Fresnel, soft boxes, and grid spots Lighting for the mood 1, 2, and 3 light setups Balancing strobe and ambient light In the DVD, I light three models with different skin types; two women and one man, in a variety of settings, from soft and beautiful, to dramatic and moody. One of the great features of this DVD is that when I photograph the model, the RAW file of the image capture is displayed, so you can freeze the frame and review all of the information immediately. At the end of each section, the lighting equipment used for that setup is shown. There is no fluff in this DVD, just useful and relevant information. This DVD enables you to put this knowledge to practical use right away and create stronger and more effective portraits. Edited by caramell, 29 April 2009 - 10:29. |
