when you bout the surround system you received a small cable (orange if I remember exactly).insert this cable into the sound card and into this cable connect the main cable that comes from the subwoofer !

I connected ALL NEEDED cables CORRECTLY !
I already did such thing earlier. But that times i had to connect Creative Live 5.1 with different Creative Sound Systems (both Creative)! That systems worked perfectly. Now i've got Genius Sound system and i don't know where is the problem :( There is another thing! When i choosed "Digital output only" in the "Creative Surround Mixer" i could hear much noise from center speaker and from my subwoofer !!!!! And at that time subwofer seemed to work (a can hear it)..... I even don't know what to think :) |

one of my friends has the same problem, i tryed a lot but no solution for him, although this Surround system worked perfectly a few days.
now he has two options: 1. all the speakers work perfectely but not the subwoofer! 2. one small speaker doesnt`t play sound at all, and at testing the surround system the subwoofer playes as CENTER try to contact the shop for assistance - in maximum 2 weeks i`ll test that type of surround with another sound card ! - i`ll post here the results |

Yo man, calm down! I've had the same problem (almost like you), but i couldn't hear the center speaker. All you have to do is start the creative player, and you'll se on the front panel a word CMSS - YOU NEED TO PUSH THIS BUTTON and select the option On. Also, you must configure from the Creative surround mixer these options: select Ac3 decoder and bass redirection and push the crossover button to max. It worked for me!

I have the same problem right now - and was about to let the world know about it ! I'm happy I checked before posting.. anyway I'm not at home right now to test what the cosy heating cat :) (uzi_speed) said , but hope it works, as the subwoofer stopped working after a fresh system install (it worked fine before).
I am pissed off thow because I forged the genius audio system - the bass was spread to all the other boxes, except for the right one (the subwoofer). I don't think this was a healthy treatment for them ! Thanks again, can't wait to get home & try this. |

Be aware! For some games, in order to hear anything, you must deactivate CMSS (select OFF), otherwise you'll hear nothing but statics ... it happend to me when i've played FIFA 2004.
Anyway, the sound that comes out from those Genius 5+1 it's worth the money. Alloohhaa! |

Hi! I'm back ;-)
It is not posible what happened to me..... I made a fucking marketing research about my problem and... i found that SUBWOOFER MUST work EVERYWHERE. Even whith a portable audio player. BUT... my didn't. I phoned to the place where it had been purchased and they sayed me to bring it to them. I came to the people i helped and disconnected the sub to bring it to the seller but we lost documents. So i connected everysing back and turned on the computer........ F U C K !!!! That damned sound system started to work properly !!!!!!!!!!! I DIDN'T DO ANITHING NEW THAT I HAD NOT ALREADY TRIED BEFORE !!!!!!!!!!!! So. Thank u all 4 ur interesting with my problem. Never will forget u. ;-))) |
