"Create security groups, user accounts, user mailboxes, and computer accounts on the SBS 2000 computer. Configure these accounts so that they are identical to the corresponding accounts on the SBS 4.x network." Day one: Unpack the server, add the memory, network adapters, RAID cards, and so on. Send mail to users requesting that they delete old mail and old files in their shared folders to reduce the copy load when you upgrade. Install Windows 2000 Server from disk one of SBS 2000 Setup CD-ROM set. Plug the new computer into the SBS 4.x network in Workgroup mode. • Day two: Copy all user data to the new computer. Complete this step after people leave the office or plan to have them log off at 3pm Friday. Remove the Windows 2000 Server from the network and connect it to another hub. Rename the computer to the same name as the SBS 4.x computer. Install SBS 2000, and make sure that you use the same NetBIOS domain name as the old server. • Day three: Create user accounts and mailboxes, import all data that was copied, set up all printers and shares, and move the client computers to the new network |

Mi-e lene sa traduc...
The role of SYSPREP.EXE is to prepare a disk for duplication. When the disk is prepared, a third-party tool can be used to copy the duplicated drive onto other machines. SYSPREP.EXE, which is run from the Tools Management console or from a command line, configures the disk image so that SIDS and other unique information are removed and ready to be re-created on the target machine. This ensures that no conflicts arise in interaction with other machines that have the same SID. Switch Function -quiet Runs the target computer’s setup with no user interaction. -pnp Forces the detection of Plug and Play resources on the destination computer. This ensures that any Plug and Play devices on the target computer are detected rather than simply configuring for the devices on the source computer. -reboot Restarts the configuration computer when Sysprep is complete rather than simply shutting it down. This will invoke the Setup program on the configuration computer and is used only when you want to verify that the setup program is going to function properly. -nosidgen Prevents the regeneration of SIDs on the target computer. This is useful when you are transferring the contents of one machine to another for the purposes of decommissioning the original. The new machine then becomes an exact duplicate of the first. |

deci cu -pnp si -nosidgen s-ar putea sa mearga. daca hardware-ul e cat de cat identic. n-am stiut de switch-urile astea.
