Arata foarte bine masina. Daca mai trag inauntru un interior decent cu materiale nu prea pretentioase si performante macar decente in offroad o sa fie best seller.

Mie mi se pare ca seamana mult cu Ford Edge din SUA http://www.fordvehic...rossovers/edge/. Am mers cu Edge - e OK, mi-a placut. Si nici consumul nu era dezastruos. Am mers insa doar pe sosea - nu stiu daca stie ceva offroad. Mi s-a parut insa cam mica la interior versus cat parea de mare la exterior.

The new Kuga is based on Ford’s acclaimed C-Car architecture used in vehicles like the European Focus and C-MAX. It comes in both FWD and AWD models, the latter using a full-time Haldex set-up, and will be offered with a 136hp (100kW) 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel churning out a maximum 340Nm of torque from just 2,000rpm thanks to its overboost function. More engines including Ford of Europe’s first hybrid powertrain will be offered further down the track.

Ford’s new Kuga may be compact but there’s plenty of storage space inside for all your gear and four of your mates. The second row seating has a 60/40 split and has been designed to fold completely flat and offers up to 1,355L of storage. When the seats are up there’s still a usable 360L of space.

The Kuga will be offered with two distinct lines of trim, Trend and Titanium, both of which are differentiated with a wide range of equipment, technology and styling options. Some of the options include metallic paint, color coded interior details, and matching trim for the instrument panel and door inserts. Standard safety features include ESP, Anti Rollover Mitigation, ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, plus a stiff and rigid passenger cell.

Nici macar atat, cei de la Mercedes au intrat pe piata SUVurilor compacte cu GLK.

Arata bine, interiorul are multe elemente comune cu focus.

SAARLOUIS, Germany. Production of the all-new Ford Kuga, Ford of Europe's first entry into the highly competitive crossover market, began today at the Ford plant in Saarlouis, Germany.

The company plans to build around 45,000 examples of the new model in Saarlouis this year ? equivalent to nearly 10 per cent of the plant's annual production volume.

Altogether Ford invested a very significant amount in new manufacturing technology to support Kuga production at Saarlouis. Sales of the Kuga will progressively begin across all European markets a little later this year.

?A distinctive 'kinetic design' exterior, Ford's acclaimed on-road vehicle dynamics and premium-like quality are just some of the highlights Kuga will bring to the fast-growing crossover market segment,? remarked John Fleming, President and CEO Ford of Europe.

The Kuga is the fourth model to be launched at Saarlouis in the past 12 months. It follows the new Ford C-MAX in March 2007, the new Ford Focus in December 2007 and the new Ford Focus ST earlier this month.

And with the introduction of the Kuga, Saarlouis now manufactures for the first time three different model series at the same time ? Focus, C-MAX and Kuga.

The Ford Kuga is being built exclusively in Saarlouis and around 84 per cent of production will be exported to a total of 32 different countries. The five largest sales markets are Germany, Italy, Great Britain, France and Spain.

With 6,600 employees, the Ford plant in Saarlouis is the largest employer in the Saarland. A further 2,000 people are employed at the neighboring supplier park which supports the plant.

More than eleven million vehicles have been produced by Ford in Saarlouis since the start of manufacturing there on January 16, 1970. The Ford Escort (more than 6.5 million), Ford Capri, Ford Fiesta and Ford Orion have all been built there in the past. And the Ford Focus since 1998.

In 2007 a total of 392,413 vehicles rolled off the production line in Saarland. This is expected to increase to 425,000 vehicles in 2008.




Ford Announced Kuga Prices

The all-new Ford Kuga , Ford's first entry into the growing crossover segment, will go on sale in June 2008. Prices start from ?20,495 for the Zetec and ?22,495 for the Titanium.

The Ford Kuga is based on Ford's acclaimed C-car architecture ? well proven in both the Ford Focus and the Ford C-MAX. Distinctive design, intelligent AWD system, and impressive on and off-road ability make the Kuga an attractive proposition.

"I'm really excited about moving into this growing segment with such a stylish and capable vehicle. I'm confident that Kuga is going to give the competition a run for their money!" said Roelant de Waard, Chairman and Managing Director, Ford of Britain.

Powered by the 2.0-liter Duratorq TDCi 136PS diesel engine with standard particulate filter and six-speed manual transmission, Kuga comes with full-time Haldex intelligent AWD system. The engine provides 320Nm of torque at 2,000rpm and 340Nm in transient overboost. With combined fuel consumption of 44.1mpg it also achieves class-leading levels of CO2 ? 169 g/km.

Kuga is available in two specifications - Zetec and Titanium. Standard features include - keyless start, 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Ford Easy fuel, Thatcham category 1 alarm and MP3 connector.

Ford Kuga Trend 4x4 2.0 Duratorq, cel care m-ar interesa pe mine, dupa cateva raportari la preturile altor modele Ford - Franta vs Romania, iese ca pretul CIP pt. Rom ar fi undeva intre 22500 si 23500 euro, deci cu TVA s-ar invarti pe la 26500-28000 euro.

e rival cu Tiguan. Cel putin din poze arata mai bine ca modelul VW pe care l-am vazut pe viu si m-a dezamagit complet la exterior. Urata cu spume.

Kuga are dimensiuni respectabile, 1640(1710) cm inaltime , 184 cm latime si 4439 cm lungime, deci mai lung decat Tucson, Qashqai si Sportage. Ford au facut treaba cu S-max si Noul Mondeo, sa vedem cum se va prezenta Kuga. De obicei, ei lasa preturile sub VW, dar Kuga ar trebui sa fie simtitor mai ieftin decat Tiguan ca sa aiba iz de lovitura in vanzari in Europa.
Este de felicitat VW pt faptul ca are Tiguanul la preturi omenesti, ceea ce va forta concurenta sa-si mai taie din pretentii.
Nu sunt innebunit dupa Tiguan(ca aspect), dar cine va vinde SUV compact sau crossover mult mai scump decat el, in Europa, se va "autosinucide singur cu mana lui".
Oricum, salut ascutirea concurentei in acest domeniu.

Sambata am fost chemat de un dealer Ford sa fac un drive test cu Kuga, inainte de lansare.
Masina a fost dieselul de 2 litri si 136 CP, cutie manuala, echipare Trend. E mult spus drive test, ca mi s-a pus in vedere sa ma intorc dupa 30 de minute, deoarece mai erau si alti doritori. M-am plimbat prin oras si am iesit un pic pe centura.
Eu conduc zilnic un Passat 1.9TDI 4motion 130 CP, deci asta e masina la care m-am raportat.

Desi Kuga e mai mare, motorul trage bine, accelaratia e prompta.
Ce mi-a placut: pornirea din buton, hayonul panoramic, portbagajul destul de mare.
Ce nu mi-a placut: materialele de pe bord si textilele de pe scaune par ieftine, usa spate dreapta trebuia trantita sa se inchida.

Plimbarea a fost destul de distractiva.
In momentul asta nu cred ca as fi dispus sa o cumpar, pentru ca vreau un motor mai mare si cutie automata.

Chiar astept lansarea Q5 si XC60.

Oficialii companiei sunt optimisti in privinta vanzarilor noului model, deoarece "parcul auto romanesc este suficient de vechi pentru a absorbi masini noi".

De altfel, lansarea modelului Kuga, programata initial pentru luna noiembrie, a fost devansata cu 3 luni, datorita sesizarii unei cereri in piata, dupa cum a declarat Laura Andreescu, director de marketing si comunicare al Romcar.

Momentan nu s-au inregistrat precomenzi ale modelului Kuga, conform reprezentantilor Romcar. In Europa, modelul a avut vanzari de 5.500 de unitati in 6 luni de la lansare.

Kuga va fi disponibil in 2 versiuni de echipare - Trend si Titanium, iar preturile de vanzare, fara TVA, vor incepe de la 20.350 euro pentru versiunea Trend si 23.350 pentru Titanium.

Compania Ford si-a propus pentru acest an sa comercializeze 26.000 de unitati in Romania, in crestere cu 20% fata de anul trecut, obiectiv care include si vanzarile modelului Kuga.

Reprezentantii Romcar au anuntat lansarea noului model Fiesta in Romania in primul trimestru al anului viitor.
