Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19624

By Brandon LeBlanc / Senior Program Manager, Windows Insider Program
Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19624 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.
You can check out our Windows Insider Program documentation here, including a list of all the new features and updates released in builds so far. Not seeing any of the features in this build? Check your Windows Insider Settings to make sure you’re on the Fast ring. Submit feedback here to let us know if things weren’t working the way you expected.
If you want a complete look at what build is in which Insider ring, head over to Flight Hub. Please note, there will be a slight delay between when a build is flighted and when Flight Hub is updated.
General changes & improvements
  • We’re temporarily turning off the new search box in the default apps Settings pages while we work on improving performance and reliability.
  • We’re updating the VPN connection logic based on feedback, so that if you disconnect from a VPN network, it will now uncheck the option to auto-connect (similar to how it’s handled for Wi-Fi).
  • Based on feedback we’re updating the text of the Add a Device dialog so the list of examples under Bluetooth includes controllers.
  • We’re updating the Optional Updates Available section that appears in Windows Update settings, so that you will now be able to copy the text in case you need it.
Fixes
  • We’ve fixed an issue that was causing unexpected flickering across Windows shell surfaces and apps in the last two builds.
  • We’ve fixed an issue causing IIS configuration to be set to default after taking a new build.
  • We’ve fixed an issue causing a transient access error when quickly switching between WSL distros using the File Explorer integration.
  • We fixed an issue impacting explorer.exe reliability for some Insiders recently.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in Settings and the taskbar volume flyout crashing recently when selecting certain endpoints from the audio endpoint list.
  • We fixed a race condition that could result in VPN not auto-connecting (if it was set up to do that) after upgrade.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where the battery icon on the lock screen always shows close to empty, regardless of actual battery levels. If you’re still experiencing this issue, please report it in the Feedback Hub.
  • We fixed a recent issue where if you opened your laptop after it’d been asleep, and it was connected to an external monitor with an external camera, Windows Hello would recognize you but not dismiss the lock screen.
  • We fixed an issue that could result in your device bug checking after it’d been asleep.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in certain Bluetooth mice being very slow to reconnect to your device after it’d been asleep.
  • We fixed an issue preventing you from navigating out of the Connect app’s settings dialog using a mouse.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in Windows Security’s Core Isolation feature failing to enable on certain devices recently.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in Windows Update failing with error code 0x800700b7.
  • We fixed a deadlock that could result in Windows Update’s checking for updates not completing and showing as in progress until Settings was closed and reopened.
  • We fixed an issue where some of the buttons and links on the Language Settings page weren’t the correct color when using high contrast.
  • We fixed an issue where the text in the Optimize Drives window under Scheduled Optimization section would be truncated in a number of different languages and at certain text scaling levels.
Known issues
  • We’re aware Narrator and NVDA users that seek the latest release of Microsoft Edge based on Chromium may experience some difficulty when navigating and reading certain web content. Narrator, NVDA and the Edge teams are aware of these issues. Users of legacy Microsoft Edge will not be affected. NVAccess has released a NVDA 2019.3 that resolves the known issue with Edge.
  • We’re looking into reports of the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build.
  • We’re looking into an issue where some may devices fail to update to this build with error code 0xc0000409. If you experience this error, you may consider pausing updates until a future flight.
  • We’re working on fixing an issue for a future Insider Preview build where in Settings > Privacy the Documents and Downloads sections show a broken icon next to their page name (just a rectangle).

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19628 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.
Some Windows Insiders might notice that the name of the branch we’re releasing builds from has changed to MN_RELEASE starting with today’s build. As we mentioned back in December, the Fast ring receives builds directly from this active development branch. In this case, we are practicing our ability to change which branch we consider as the active development branch. This is just a short-term change and we intend to release builds from RS_PRERELEASE again soon. As our engineers work in development cycles internally, we may prioritize work being done in a specific branch and may need to move Insiders between branches. The builds from the MN_RELEASE branch are not matched to a specific Windows 10 release.
  • We’re adding initial support for DNS over HTTPS, so that you can opt into using encryption when Windows makes DNS queries. Follow the instructions in this blog post to opt in as it will be off by default.

  • Thanks everyone who shared feedback about the updated version of Korea Microsoft IME introduced with Build 18941. For the moment, the IME version will be returning to the previous one while we take your feedback into consideration.
Fixes
  • We’ve fixed an issue causing some devices fail to update with error code 0xc0000409. If you continue to experience this error, please let us know by filing new feedback in Feedback Hub.
  • We’re working on fixing an issue for a future Insider Preview build where in Settings > Privacy the Documents and Downloads sections show a broken icon next to their page name (just a rectangle).
  • We’re looking into reports of IIS configuration being set to default after taking a new build. You will need to back up your IIS configuration and restore it after the new build is installed successfully.
  • We’re looking into reports that taskbar preview thumbnails aren’t rendering consistently (showing a blank area).

Build String: 10.0.20133.1000.rs_onecore_dep.200519-1740.

Era necesar topic nou. Nu are rost amestecarea discutiilor.

Other updates for Insiders

Your Phone app’s audio controls feature now rolling out to the public

The audio controls functionality announced in April is now rolling out to the general public. This feature lets you control your music and audio apps from the Your Phone app. Now you can access and control the audio apps playing from your phone directly within the app, without needing to split your attention between devices or breaking your workflow. Your audio tracks will stay in sync between your phone and PC, and you can switch between multiple sources using the dropdown in the player.

Please make sure you have the latest versions of Your Phone Companion and the Your Phone app to experience this feature.

General changes & improvements
  • We changed the servicing model for the Linux kernel inside of Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 distributions. This build includes this change to remove the Linux kernel from the Windows image, and instead have it be serviced via Microsoft Update, the same way that 3rd party drivers (like graphics, or touchpad drivers) are installed and updated on your machine today. For full details please read this blog post on the Windows Command Line blog and for information about the kernel version please view the kernel docs page here.
  • Support for Nested Virtualization on AMD processors is now available. Being an early release we recommend you read this blog post for details on what platforms currently work as well as how to enable the feature.
Fixes

  • We’ve fixed an issue where some devices booting from eMMC storage bugchecked when resuming from hibernate.
  • We fixed multiple Japanese and Chinese IME issues that impacted IME mode switching within applications and Windows notification area.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where taskbar preview thumbnails weren’t rendering consistently (showing a blank area).
  • We fixed an issue resulting in the handwriting input panel not appearing in certain text fields after being tapped with a pen.
  • We fixed an issue where resizing a snapped application in tablet mode would minimize the app to the taskbar instead of adjusting the app size.
  • We fixed an issue where Windows Hello Setup would crash if facial recognition was already set up and you chose the Improve Recognition button.
  • We fixed an issue for some users where your PC wouldn’t recognize it when you inserted a smart card (event log showing error 621).
Known issues

  • We’re looking into reports of the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build.
  • We’re working on fixing an issue for a future Insider Preview build where in Settings > Privacy, the Documents and Downloads sections show a broken icon next to their page name (just a rectangle).

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20185
By Brandon LeBlanc / Senior Program Manager, Windows Insider Program

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20185 to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.

What’s new in Build 20185:

Improving DNS configuration in Settings
We’re making a few changes to the Network section in Settings:
Making DNS settings more easily accessible: Editing your DNS server assignment is now a top-level option when you go into your network’s properties page.
Encrypted DNS controls in the Settings app: Encrypted DNS (DNS over HTTPS, or DoH) can help increase privacy and security while browsing the web. You can now configure DoH directly in the Settings app to more easily take advantage of this feature:
For ethernet connections: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Click Properties, then select Edit IP assignment or Edit DNS server assignment and it will be available in the popup
For Wi-Fi connections: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Click the adapter properties link, then select Edit IP assignment or Edit DNS server assignment and it will be available in the popup. Currently you will not see the encryption options if you go to the individual network’s property page
You can add any IP address listed here to unlock the DoH dropdown and choose to use encryption. Once encryption is enabled, you can confirm it’s working by looking at the applied DNS servers in the network properties and see them labeled as “(Encrypted)” servers. If you want to try a custom DoH server we don’t recognize yet, you can configure an IP address to be recognized as a DoH server by using the netsh command documented here at the end of the blog post.
The new Edit Network DNS settings popup in Settings.
As always, appreciate your feedback!

New ADMX Backed Policies for MDM
Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20175, we have enabled 647 new MDM policies across 56 ADMX files to enable commercial customers to configure policies that are also supported through Group Policies. Contains ADMX based Policies such as App Compat, Event Forwarding, Servicing and Task Scheduler. These new policies can be configured using Intune custom profile. Intune UX is planned to be available later this year.

Other updates for Insiders
Introducing Your Phone Apps – access your Android phone’s apps directly from your PC
UPDATE: The apps experience in Your Phone is gradually rolling out only to Windows Insiders on a PC that is configured to be in the Dev, Beta, or Release Preview Channels and is a server-side change that takes time propagate out. Please see the feature requirements below including list of supported phones and well as this FAQ here on Microsoft Answers.
The Your Phone app continues to evolve. We are happy to announce another exciting feature, a seamless continuation of our vision and promise to help you be more productive and keep you in your flow. Tap into the power of Your Phone app with Link to Windows integration on select Samsung devices to instantly access your phone’s mobile apps directly from your Windows 10 PC. There’s no need to install, sign-in or set up your apps on your PC, saving you time and hassle. You can conveniently pin your favorite mobile apps to your Taskbar or Start menu on your PC for quick and easy access. When you launch an app, it opens in a separate window outside of the Your Phone app enabling you to multitask. So, whether you need to quickly reply to a conversation, respond to your social posts, or order food, you can do it fast using your PC’s large screen, keyboard, mouse, pen and touch screen alongside your other PC apps!
Mobile phone and Windows laptop highlighting Your Phone Apps feature.
And we are not stopping here. Later in the year, Samsung Galaxy Note20 users will experience the power and convenience of running multiple apps side by side and we will continue to work with Samsung to bring this feature to additional devices. Apps will launch in separate windows enabling you to interact with multiple apps at the same time. So, whether you are working on a document, keeping up on your social media feed or simply staying connected with family and friends, everything is accessible in one place, so your flow is never broken.
Starting today, Android phones supporting Your Phone app’s Phone screen feature will be able to preview the Apps feature. See list of supported devices here. The ability to run multiple apps simultaneously is currently not available and will be introduced later this year. Give this feature a try and provide us with your valuable feedback as we continue to test, learn, and improve the overall experience. You can provide feedback within the Your Phone app under Settings -> Send Feedback.

Key Features:
See a list of your installed Android apps directly within the Your Phone app.
Add your frequently used apps to the favorites section or search among your apps for even quicker access.
Launch any mobile app directly from your PC.
Apps and your mirrored phone screen launch in a separate window on your PC.
Pin your mobile apps to Windows Task bar or Start menu.
Stay in the know by keeping an eye on the app notification badging (unread notifications) in the All apps list or your Favorites.
Screen showing mobile phone’s apps and open Instagram panel.

Apps feature requirements:
PC running Windows 10 October 2018 Update or later. However, we always recommend updating to the latest version of Windows 10, Your Phone app and Link to Windows.
Available on select Android phones running Android 9.0 or greater with the Link to Windows integration. Check out the list of supported phones here.
Phone and PC must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Known Issues/Limitations:
Some apps might block the ability to cast to other screens and you will see a black screen instead.
Some games and apps might not respond to interactions from your PC mouse or keyboard. You will need to use a touch-enabled PC to interact with them.
Audio from apps will play from your mobile device.
Ability to run multiple apps will rollout out later in the year.

Updates for developers
The Windows SDK is now flighting continuously with the Dev Channel. Whenever a new OS build is flighted to the Dev Channel, the corresponding SDK will also be flighted. You can always install the latest Insider SDK from aka.ms/InsiderSDK. SDK flights will be archived in Flight Hub along with OS flights.

Changes and Improvements
We’re moving the 3D Viewer app into the Windows Accessories folder in the Start menu all apps list.
Fixes
We fixed an issue where sometimes the “close all windows” action in the Taskbar wasn’t closing all of the open tabs for pinned sites.
We fixed an issue that could result in the network icon in the Taskbar saying there was no internet although there was an active connection.
We fixed an issue where dragging and dropping an app from Start’s all apps list over to the tile grid to pin it wasn’t working for certain apps.
We fixed an issue where the letter headers in the Start menu’s all apps list had unnecessary left padding when the all apps list was set to hidden. This fix isn’t in this build, will be in the next flight.
In order to address an issue where the tiles were difficult to read against certain backgrounds when using full screen Start we’re adjusting the background to be slightly less transparent.
We fixed an issue where when using a Start menu layout applied by MDM, tile groups may disappear after a few days of uptime without rebooting.
We fixed an issue where if a notification included an inline image the app icon would be slightly out of line with it.
We fixed an issue where launching an app from its taskbar jumplist wasn’t working for certain desktop bridge apps and instead would result in the app disappearing from the taskbar.
We fixed an issue resulting in excessive network traffic when using the Open File dialog to navigate to shared network folders where previous versions where enabled.
We fixed an issue that could result in a blank icon displaying instead of a plus button on the main Default Apps page in Settings after uninstalling the app set as default.
We fixed an issue where opening Storage Settings then immediately going into one of the sub-pages and then back could result in the page not loading.
We fixed an issue resulting in the new Microsoft Edge not being listed in the App History section of Task Manager.
We fixed an issue impacting touch keyboard launch reliability.
We fixed an issue where TextInputHost.exe would enter an unresponsive state, leading to clipboard history, the Emoji Panel, and dictation not appearing when pressing their corresponding keyboard shortcuts.
We fixed an issue that could result in not being able to paste the first entry in clipboard history.
We fixed an issue that could result in ARM64 devices bug checking when resuming from hibernation.

Known issues
We’re working on a fix for an issue where some Microsoft Store games protected with Easy Anti-Cheat may fail to launch.
We’re looking into reports of the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build.
We’re working on a fix for an issue where the min/max/close buttons are stuck in their original positions after resizing a UWP app. If you move the app window the position should update.
We’re investigating reports that the new taskbar experience for pinned sites isn’t working for some sites.
We’re working on a fix to enable live preview for pinned site tabs.
We’re working on enabling the new taskbar experience for existing pinned sites. In the meantime, you can unpin the site from the taskbar, remove it from the edge://apps page, and then re-pin the site.
We’re working on a fix for an issue where pinned sites don’t show all open tabs for a domain. In the meantime, you can fix this by pinning the site’s homepage rather than a specific page (e.g. pin microsoft.com rather than microsoft.com/windows).
We’re working on a fix for an issue where Alt + Tabbing to a browser tab sometimes moves the previously active browser tab to the front of the Alt + Tab list as well.
Opening a WSL 1 distribution can result in the error: ‘The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request’. Please check out this Github issue for the latest updates.

Hello Windows Insiders!
Today we are pleased to release a new build of the Windows Server vNext Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release that contains both the Desktop Experience and Server Core installation options for Datacenter and Standard editions.

What’s New
File Services: SMB improvements
We’ve expanded the SMB 3.1.1 protocol in Windows Server vNext with a number of security and performance capabilities, including:
AES-256 – Windows Server now supports AES-256-GCM and AES-256-CCM cryptographic suites for SMB Encryption and Signing. Windows will automatically negotiate this more advanced cipher method when connecting to another computer that supports it, and can also be mandated through Group Policy. Windows Server still supports AES-128 for down-level compatibility.
Compression – You can now copy files over SMB with compression using the Robocopy /compress and Xcopy /compress If the destination computer supports SMB compression and the files being copied are compressible, you should see significant performance improvements. For more information and a demo of this behavior, visit the ITOps Talk Blog. Any patched Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10 computers already support compression; now you will have command-line tools to make use of it.
RDMA encryption – SMB Direct over RMDA networks now supports encryption. Previously, enabling SMB Encryption would disable direct data placement, making RDMA performance as slow as TCP. Now data is encrypted before placement, leading to relatively minor performance degradation while adding AES-256 protected packet privacy.
East-West storage encryption – Windows Server failover clusters now support granular control of encrypting and signing intra-node storage communications for Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) and the storage bus layer (SBL). This means that when using Storage Spaces Direct, you can decide to encrypt or sign east-west communications within the cluster itself for higher security.

Storage Migration Services improvements
Today marks our introduction of third generation of Storage Migration Service improvements, including:
AFS Tiering support preview – SMS now supports migrating data to a server configured with Azure File Sync cloud tiering, which allows you to overprovision storage while dehydrating data to Azure Files in the cloud. SMS now understands this scenario and can slow or pause transfers to allow AFS to catch up in it tiering to the cloud. This feature also makes changes to the SMS extension in Windows Admin Center, which will release separately to the feed at a later date. Please follow the Microsoft FileCab blog for updates.
Scenarios backported to Windows Server 2019 are included – Cluster, Samba-Linux migration support, Local security principal migration, and Inter-network migration were all added as backported features to Windows Server 2019 since its release. If you had not patched, you would not have access to them. They are now included out-of-the-box in Windows Server vNext.
We have also recently completed two new customer-requested Storage Migration Service scenarios and will be releasing them to Insiders in the coming months. Check the release notes and the Microsoft FileCab blog for updates.

We value your feedback!
The most important part of a frequent release cycle is to hear what’s working and what needs to be improved, so your feedback is extremely valued. For Windows Server, use your registered Windows 10 Insider device and use the Feedback Hub application. In the app, choose the Windows Server category and then the appropriate subcategory for your feedback. In the title of the Feedback, please indicate the build number you are providing feedback as shown below:
[Server #####] Title of my feedback
See Share Feedback on Windows Server via Feedback Hub for specifics. We also encourage you to visit the Windows Server Insiders space on the Microsoft Tech Communities forum to collaborate, share and learn from experts.
For Windows Admin Center, Send us feedback via UserVoice. We also encourage you to visit the Windows Admin Center space on the Microsoft Tech Communities.

Diagnostic and Usage Information
Microsoft collects this information over the internet to help keep Windows secure and up to date, troubleshoot problems, and make product improvements. Microsoft server operating systems can be configured to turn diagnostic data off, send Required diagnostic data, or send Optional diagnostic data. The default setting is to send Required diagnostic data. Required diagnostic data includes information to help keep the device secure, up-to-date, and working as expected.  During previews, Microsoft asks that you change this setting to Enhanced in order to provide the best automatic feedback and help us improve the final product.
Administrators can change the level of information collection through Settings. For details, see http://aka.ms/winserverdata. Also see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Terms of Use
This is pre-release software – it is provided for use “as-is” and is not supported in production environments. Users are responsible for installing any updates made available from Windows Update.   All pre-release software made available to you via the Windows Server Insider program are governed by the Insider Terms of Use.
Thanks,
BLB

Aceasta este cumva versiunea 2009?
Deci eu am 1909 acum. Si as vrea sa sar peste 2004, despre cam am auzit multe lucruri negative.
