Why almost everyone was wrong about Tesla’s cash flow situation
Critics said Tesla was "on the verge of bankruptcy." They were totally wrong.
Each time Tesla has begun work on a new vehicle, cash flow has turned sharply negative as Tesla spent heavily to design the vehicle and build up its manufacturing capacity. Around the time each vehicle starts coming off the assembly line, the negative free cash flow hits a peak. Then a few quarters later, as the factory gets close to capacity, free cash flow turns positive. Tesla achieved positive cash flow in late 2013, mid-2016, and now in mid-2018. And the company experienced profits, however small, during each of these time periods as well.

Se pare ca VW se pregătește de un nou fail. Mulțimea de declarații și amânarea modelelor electrice ii face sa piardă startul.

Declaratia aia a lui Diess a mai fost data pe aici. Mi-a fost sila sa mai fac vreun comentariu fiindca aveam mari asteptari de la acest nou CEO ca va incerca macar sa curete cloaca aia numita VW. In schimb vad ca si el s-a infectat de la ea,  dupa cum remarca si autorul acestui articol :

Today, Tesla announced that the board appointed longtime board member Robyn Denholm as new chair to replace Musk.

Denholm, second from the right on the picture above, has been on Tesla’s board for the past 4 years.
She began her career in Australia serving at Toyota for seven years and when she joined Tesla, she was COO/CFO at Juniper Networks.
At the time, she was seen as the board member most independent from Elon Musk as the board was populated with his family, friends, and longtime investors.
In recent years, she has been working as CFO and Head of Strategy at Telstra, Australia’s largest telecommunications company, but she has now given a 6-month notice in order to become Tesla’s full-time chair.

Se pare că tranziția spre mașinile electrice va fi grăbită și de creșterea prețului petrolului încă din 2020

Si o crestere masiva a vanzarilor de electrice ar trebui sa duca la ieftinirea petrolului.

Ieftinirea petrolului nu e relevanta decit in SUA si doar deocamdata.
In ceelalte tari 3/4 din pret sint taxe, si chiar americanii pot intrduce la un moment dat o taxa de CO2 care sa faca nepractica cumpararea masinilor pe petrol (asta e totusi o chestie de termen lung, nu in 5 ani).
La ora asta dincolo de pretul benzinei sint mai multe chestii care contribuie:
1. Constiinta si presiunea sociala, de status symbol etc
2. Practicalitatea din alte punctre de vedere (se strica mai rar, intretinere mai rara etc)
3. Alte avantaje date de stat (banda speciala pe autostrada, electricitate subventionata direct sau indirect)

Aseara pe la 21:00 m-a apucat rasul pe strada... tocmai ce ieseam de la un Mega si mergeam spre casa cand... trece o masina pe langa mine care nu facea niciun zgomot Am realizat ca e electrica, nu mergea repede si avea farurile stinse desi era noapte, mergea cu 15 la ora... dupa aia am inceput sa rad, omul probabil ramasese fara baterie si oprise orice consumator sa ajunga acasa Nu m-am dat seama de marca, sigur nu era Tesla ca alea sunt mari... era ceva japonez sau european destul de compact cam in stil de Citroen C3 dar mai micut.
