Desi nu face parte din seria Walkman, acest telefon include taste cu functii muzicale si multumita tehnologiei HSDPA, terminalul va va permite sa downloadati o melodie in 14 secunde. V640i soseste cu noul software Media Manager, care permite utilizatorilor sa isi organizeze fisierele media, fie ele imagini, clipuri video sau melodii.
De asemenea softul permite convertirea fisierelor in formaturi suportate de telefon si transferare lor cu usurinta pe si de pe PC. Noul Sony Ericsson suporta playback video H.264 la 15fps, clipurile fiind vizionate pe un display de 2 inch. V640 soseste cu Google Maps si suport pentru eBay, dar si pentru feeduri RSS.
