Pe scurt, inca astept sa imi vina jucaria, pt ca din N motive tembele masina ia ~ 6 luni sa fie produsa si mai ales livrata.

Daca totul merge OK, in jurul datei de 15 octombrie mi-o preda dealerul.

De ce ML ?
Dupa o analiza a pietei si o asteptare de un an dupa BMW X5... BMW a scos un mare rahat diesel.
Speram ca BMW sa scoata un concurent disel pt Q7 4.2 TDI si ML 420 CDI, dar au venit cu 3.0SD, solutie ce nu ma incanta.

Q7 are cam tot ceea ce vrei, insa e al dracu de mare si urat in interior.
X5 motor cu performante slabe, lipsa confort (suspensie nereglabila pe inaltime) si interior spartan (urat).

ML este pt mine compromisul "cel mai fericit".

Imi place motorul diesel, pt ca pe langa consumul mic si autonomia impresionanta, este usor de controlat la orice viteza si are un cuplu de tanc.
Imi plac masinile f. puternice si sunt fericit ca imi permit una.

Momentan imi frang mainile si ma mai informez pe forumuri despre masina, insa in Romania nu este nici un forum al marcii, iar in afara sunt majoritari benzinari (US).

P.S. Un kit de putere Brabus duce masina la 0-100 Km/h in 6 sec si aduce cuplu la 800 Nm, dar nu ma grabesc.

Nu compara diselul turbo cu benzina aspirata.

420 CDI este bi-turbo (are cate o turbina uriasa cu geometrie variabila pentru fiecare banc de cate 4 cilindri), nu twin turbo ca la BMW (in cascada).

Barely a year after the market launch of the M-Class in summer 2005, the ML 420 CDI 4MATIC now rounds off the range of diesel-engined models. This latest design of V8 diesel engine in the ML 420 CDI with four-valve technology, bi-turbo charging and variable turbine geometry gives this off-roader a truly exciting temperament. The torque output of the 4.0 litre engine has risen to 700 Newton metres and is available across an engine speed range of 2000 to 2600 rpm. Upgrade measures have boosted power from 184 kW/250 hp in the previous model of ML 400 CDI to a new high of 225 kW/306 hp. This delivers blistering performance, from a standing start and for intermediate sprints, for example when overtaking. The ML 420 CDI 4MATIC surges from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and forward thrust does not flatten out until the top speed of 235 km/h. When accelerating from 60 to 120 km/h in third gear, the ML 420 CDI 4MATIC only needs 6.0 seconds. Its high power reserves not only make for impressive sprints but also, operating in conjunction with the standard, seven-speed 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, it delivers relaxed driving in high speed ranges and low fuel consumption figures. If driven economically, the diesel-engined model only consumes 9.1 litres of fuel every hundred kilometres while average fuel consumption amounts to a modest 11.1 l/100 km. These favourable fuel economy figures, coupled with a tank capacity of 95 litres equip the ML 420 CDI 4MATIC with an impressive cruising range of almost 900 kilometres without a visit to a filling station. This model also outperforms the EU4 limits and operates with a zero-maintenance diesel particulate filter which reduces what were already low exhaust emission levels by a further 99 percent.

The enhanced power rating of this new V8 diesel engine was achieved primarily through use of the third generation of common rail high-pressure fuel injection, capable of maximum injection pressures of 1600 bar with ignition pressure raised to 175 bar. Optimized flow conditions also help to improve conditions in the charge cycle and the two newly designed exhaust turbochargers with variable turbine geometry operate even more effectively than every before. With up to five diesel injection points per injection cycle, special perforated nozzles, a new design of piezo injector with more precise fuel injection times and an upgraded exhaust recuperation system, substantial improvements have been made in emission levels. Engine development specialists have reduced noise with an optimised chain drive, a rigid crankcase with generously proportioned engine mountings and additional acoustic baffle plates. The quadratic ratio of bore to stroke and opposing motion on the balancing shaft deliver low-noise operation.

Excellent drive dynamics under all conditions

The 4MATIC permanent four-wheel drive system equips the ML 420 CDI with superior drive dynamics under any conditions. In conjunction with the independent coil spring suspension, ultra-precise parameterised steering and the proven Electronic Stability Program (ESP?), this enables the ML to deliver compelling standards of handling, previously the sole preserve of sports saloons. The optional AIRMATIC air suspension system with the ADS adaptive damper system further enhances ride comfort and active safety. On challenging terrain, the driver is assisted by electronic drive dynamic control systems such as 4ETS, the specially developed off-road ABS system, Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR) or the Hill-Start Assistant.

Another optional extra, the Off-Road Pro Technik package, substantially extends available options while driving right off the beaten track. It employs a reduction ratio (2.93:1) in the transfer transmission and multi-disc locks with a locking action of up to 100 % on the reinforced rear axle to achieve this, while the centre differential ensures that virtually any natural off-road obstacle can be negotiated. This system also provides an extended adjustment range for the AIRMATIC system which increases ground clearance by an additional 291 millimetres. The driver can select Drive and AIRMATIC modes using two rotary knobs on the centre console. The centrale info display then provides continuously updated information on the prevailing operating mode.

With another optional extra for this class of vehicle, the forward-looking occupant protection system PRE-SAFE?, Mercedes-Benz is once again raising safety standards to a new, high level. The trump card offered by this system is the ability to network passive and active safety systems. PRE-SAFE? uses the sensors on drive dynamic control systems such as ABS, the BAS braking assistant or ESP? and optimises the protection function offered by passive safety elements in driving situations with the potential to cause an accident.

The M-Class achieved an outstanding result in the crash test conducted by the "National Highway Traffic Safety Administration". This success story became one of the first ever models of SUV to gain the highest possible score of five stars in the head-on and side impact collision tests. Following a string of successes in all vehicle classes in a tremendously diverse global range of safety tests, Mercedes-Benz has once again proven that there is really just one star you need to have on your car.

With its score of 5 stars for head-on and collision crash tests, the M-Class has assumed an absolutely dominant position in the SUV vehicle segment. In the US American version of the NCAP test (New Car Assessment Program), vehicles are evaluated after a head-on collision with a solid wall at a speed of 35 mph (56 km/h). The SINCAP test (Side Impact New Car Assessment Program) calls for a collision involving a flexible barrier weighing 1368 kilograms striking the side of the vehicle beside the front seat passengers at a speed of 38.5 mph (62 km/h). These results provide grounds for optimism about the forthcoming Euro-NCAP tests, due to be carried out in the near future.

A calming effect: Trailer Stability Assist

Vehicles like the ML 420 CDI 4MATIC are ideally suited to the towing of trailers. No matter whether a caravan, a boat trailer or a horsebox is hooked up to the towbar hitch on the M-Class, the driver can stay relaxed even while negotiating critical driving situations. Deep ruts in the motorway, side winds or abrupt evasion manoeuvres on country roads will not disturb the equilibrium of towing load or driver. This is because, right from the design stage, the suspension, brakes and steering system were built to cope with the stresses and strains of towing a load. Anyone ordering an ML Class from the factory with a towbar hitch will also enjoy the benefits of the new Mercedes-Benz Trailer Stability Assist, or TSA for short. This is an additional function on the Electronic Stability Program ESP? which provides greater safety when driving with a trailer. TSA is able to detect the onset of those much-feared pendulum movements quickly and effectively and counteracts them swiftly. To do this, it employs the sensors from the ESP? system to apply the brakes in a targeted and alternating manner to individual wheels, thereby stabilising the vehicle and trailer combination.

Pretul nu este relevant, pt ca oricum as da-o e al dracu' de scump, dar e jucarie de baieti mari.

A sarit de 85 000, stiu pe cineva care si-a luat una si a bagat optionale de "doar" 25 000 (25 000 - o masina decenta) si l-a ajuns in final 77 000, so...

Daca si Q7 e urat inside eu ma fac popa. Probabil nu ai intrat inside, chestia e ca atunci cand am mers la rep. Mercedes la o revizie de C Class, oamenii din showroom se zgaiau la Q7 si uitasera de ML-ul dinauntru smile.gif

Anyway, gusturile nu se discuta, eu in banii aia optam pt. un Supercharged full tongue.gif

Q7 mi s-a parut urat, dar mai precis ar fi batranesc. Culori sterse, finisari ce nu mi-au placut; un aspect prea clasic pentru gustul meu.
La parcare masina mi-a facut o impresie ff. proasta; e prea lunga.
Pe langa asta, spatiu din portbagaj este incredibil de mic.
Podeaua este foarte sus, asa ca nu ai loc sa pui mare lucru fara sa obstruezi vizibilitatea pe luneta.
Materialele folosite in interior sunt ca si la BMW... "suspecte de a fi premium".

GL a fost o idee, insa a ramas asa, pt ca mult prea mare fata de nevoile mele.
Am nevoie de putin offroad (de aceea am pus pachetul off road pro), insa GL este prea mare pt oras.
In plus.. imi place sa fuga, iar GL e ca o balena ucigasa wink.gif

Am studiat ff. mult masinile din clasa respectiva si eu cel putin am ramas la ML.

Ce mi-a placut la Q7 este faptul ca au harti Navi pt Romania (grupul VAG).
Si Mercedes are, insa doar pt modelele fabricate in Europa, iar ML este fabricat in US, ca si X5.

P.S. ML 420 CDI "da fum" la Supercharged smile.gif

tu ai vazut pozele pe care le-am pus eu? aproape totul este imbracat complet in piele inclusiv bordul in piele si tavanul in alcantara, lucruri inexistente la ml...
sau ai impresia ca se vand doar modelele chele pe care le vezi tu in reprezentante? probabil asta crezi, din moment ce ai zis ca nici culorile nu-ti plac (de parca nu se pot alege alte culori)

ps. nu vreau sa par rautacios, dar... c'mon, daca alea-s materiale "suspecte de a fi premium", io-s popa... unde mai pui ca marca mea preferata e mercedes, nu audi..

on topic: Foarte tare masina, e si una din preferatele mele, dar din pacate pe configuratorul de Romania al Mercedesului n-am gasit un ML 420 CDI. confused.gif

Plecand de la premiza ca gusturile nu se discuta, tin totusi sa fac unele precizari:

1. Daca Q7 ti sa parut urat, e ok. Totul tine de gust, chiar daca zici ca finisarile sunt sterse si aspectul e clasic. Aici "no comment".
2. Intradevar, Q7 e mai lung cu 30 cm. Nu comentez nici aici, cu toate ca acei 30 cm fac diferenta la spatiul interior si portbagaj wink.gif
3. In schimb aici tin sa te contrazic. Cum ai putea spune ca porbagajul e mic? Portbagajul la ML 420 CDI are 500 L pe cand la Q7 ajunge la 775 cu posibilitatea de a ajunge la 2240.
4. ML e mai inalt 40 cm decat Q7 dar lucru asta nu e relevant. Garda la sol e asemanatoare la ambele masini. Ceea ce nu inteleg, ... ce legatura are podeaua cu vizibilitatea pe luneta.

In fine una peste alta ML este o masina frumoasa iar pentru admiratorii de mercedes e o varianta de luat in calcul. Multi km cu ea fara incidente.

1. Referitor la portbagaj, ii dau dreptate.
Trebuie sa vedeti ca sa credeti.
Q7, poate ca teoretic are un spatiu imens la portbagaj, daca il umpli pana sus.
Problema este ca intre podeaua portbagajului si luneta (pe inaltime), spatiul este prea mic.

2. Interiorul de la Q7 (desi ar trebuie sa fie spatios), nu iti da aceasta senzatie, ca sofer, pt ca consola centrala este prea lata.
Pe mine m-a deranjat spatiul de la genunchi, ca sofer.
Ca posesor de BMW si test driver de Q7, intr-adevar, pot spune ca materialele de bord sunt cel putin "suspecte", rugoase etc.
Oricum, conceptul de PREMIUM eu il vad cu totul altfel.

3. Pielea de la Q7 are un nr destul de mic de nuante, dar asta e cam la toti producatorii, insa este ff. intinsa si se lasa in timp.
Pozele puse de tine sunt pt optiunea "exclusive", dar si acolo optiunile sunt limitate la cateva nuante/culori.

4. Ce imi place la Q7, Touareg, GL este ca poti imbraca in piele bordul si tavanul.
La ML aceasta optiune nu exista.

5. ML are si un schimbator de viteze.. ciudat, care e o maneta pe volan !
Asta iti lasa loc folositor intre scaunele din fata.

6. Q7 nu a stralucit la testele euroncap, desi fratele sau mai mic, Touareg a iesit pe podium.
ML este si el cu 5 stele.

P.S. 30 cm diferenta e enorm cand trebuie sa intorci/parchezi o masina intr-un oras aglomerat.
In plus.. la Q7 cei 30 cm suspectez ca se regasesc in mare parte "pierduti" in botul (compartimentul motor) urias.

totusi nu se compara sub nici o forma bordul acoperit cu piele (optiune 5700 eur) cu ala cu plastic...
iar culorile pt. interior audi exclusive sunt foarte multe, doar ca pretul e ceva mai mare... pe configuratorul romanesc nu arata, insa pe audi.de daca alegi "Designpaket Audi exclusive Leder plus" nu mai apare imaginea cu interiorul ci niste patratele colorate si un mesajul "Sie können aus einer faszinierenden Vielfalt an Farben wählen."... adica puteti alege dintr-o varietate fascinanta de culori...

Eu am vazut la Midocar cat e de fascinanta si tin sa iti spun ca era destul de limitata.
Eram cu cineva care dorea piele rosie pe un Q7 configurat pe la 120 000 euro.

Din pacate optiunea cea mai aproape de dorinta era un visiniu putred, aproape maro.

Omul are (prea) multi bani, asa ca isi asteapta tot un ML 420 CDI tunat de Brabus in Germania, cu tot ceea ce visa.

Cred ca am deschis prea devreme acest subiect, pt ca pana imi vine masina, mai este o "eternitate de cca. 1.5 luni"

Intotdeauna, cand alegi o masina exista o doza variabila de subiectivism.

Eu am comparat masinile si am ramas la ML, dar e strict o chestie de gust si nevoi.
